  1. Today
  2. I was on taxi duty last night, picking up my wife from her work xmas do, so had to stop off for a 1am picture at Old Trafford whilst i was in the area...
  3. Hi Nath. Many thanks for your kind offer. Sounds like a great plan. Unfortunately I won’t be able to attend next year as my Z is currently residing in Spain until September.
  4. I have had an email stating Japfest 2026 tickets will be available this Monday 8th December

Okay, so some interesting findings from my first test. Standard cats, reset STFTs, warm engine, at fast idle the trims are 105% and AFR 14.6. Then I put on the cobra 200 cel cats, and a radium oil catch kit I bought on black Friday. Reset STFTs again, warm engine, fast idle, the fuel trims are now 95% and AFR 14.6. I was expecting HFCs to reduce backpressure and let a bit more oxygen reach the upstream O₂ sensors at idle. That would bias the sensors lean, and the ECU would add fuel. But I got the exact opposite.🤔
  6. Andy, Zociety UK are looking to do a stand at Japfest, but it would make sense to all link up for a joint stand so we have UK Z’s and Zociety UK together. Would that be of interest? Last year the group was smaller than 2024 so involving a wider audience all in the Z community would be fantastic. I am one of the admin team there, so we’re happy to get the stand code and share it across here - let me know before Monday 12pm ticket release! Nath @naths350z

Has anyone ever experimented with welding second bricks into the y pipe? That would give a substrate surface are equivalent to stock cats, but all the advantages of higher flow
  14. Welcome mate, don't see many clean verts around look forward to seeing what you do with it First step should be some nice wheels I'd imagine, your welcome to use my build thread as inspo on what not to do aha
  15. Disco biscuits, the real reason football hooligan culture disappeared in the 90s. Everyone was still too loved up from the night before and the only thing on anyone's mind Saturday lunchtime was finding water. And the FA thought it was their all seater stadiums that did it 🤣
  16. Disco biscuits 😁 the good old days 🙃
  17. getting your photos wonky 🤣 must be all those disco biscuits😎
  18. Hi and welcome along buddy. Lovely looking car. My wife has a convertible and I have had 2. They're great cars. Good luck in your modification journey...😃
  19. Yup done a few of those lol. Remember the ones under the motorway? Good on ya fella I found and old fart buddy on here then. 🤣🍻
  20. Just joined yesterday and took delivery of my 350z convertible Sunday so will be there with my fresh mot and pish poor cooling system (hopefully get the fans fixed by then lol) Looking forward to meeting some of you and having a cuppa, natter and licking up some useful knowledge. Bongo.
  21. Looks class, big fan of keeping the boot useable, like you've done here
  22. Lovely car, a steal at £2500. I genuinely would have bought it myself for that as a second toy. I had mine mapped at Horsham. Being an NA there isn't tons of ultimate power to be had from a remap, but I found a noticeable increase in torque and the car comes alive through the mid range, way more eager to get up and go. And no you're not the oldest fart in here! I'm guessing that could be me (56). Been customising cars since 85 and have no intention of ever stopping and acting my age! Ah raves... the days of meeting at scratchwood services to convoy to a field or an empty warehouse...
  23. Lovely car ! Nice to see a clean example. As for upgrades, a plenum spacer (i think anything over 5/16'' wont fit under the factory strut bar), high flow cats (im sure decats will do the same if not better), and a drop in filter all with a tune from horsham has got my car to 285bhp for reference, so around 9bhp increase from factory new standard and this is the increase ive been seeing on most zs with the general bolt ons, some with a little more. Ive hardly ever heard anybody mention throttle body spacers on really any platform at all. Seen them discussed here and I think the verdict was it'll not do much ? Could be worth a go ive got no idea 🤷‍♂️ I have not had brain surgery (its stock so far) so cannot talk on the bhp gains from that. As for confidently over 300bhp im not 100% sure itll be pushing that but what do i know. Enjoy your new car !
  24. OK so just scored my first 350z aged 53 n half! Pretty damn chuffed as its convertible, blue, fast and very cheap. God's were shining as managed to get it for £2500 and was convinced I'd have to bosh a shed load into it as hadn't been motd or used since 2014. As it happens it's just passed MOT TODAY the day after I bought it and with only advisory being the flex in exhaust so will soon wrap and bubble gum this up. It's totally box fresh, 2 owner (last owner crying cos I stole it) 61,000 miles, fsh, completely unmolested-standard with zero rust, couple stone chips on bonnet and an easy weensy scratch on rear bumper. Blummin thing is overheating due to cooling fans not working so whipping them off in the morn for a strip down and rebuild in my lunch hour lol. Quick question, heard plenum and throttle body spacers, cheeky performance panel filter, even cheekier decat n full exhaust wrap followed by a tickle of the frontal lobe via the local brain surgeon can squeeze a shade over 300bhp on a good day (with freezer blocks under the panel filter lol). Really don't wanna go down the butcher mod route and get silly bit would be nice to give it a subtle tickle and the illusion of being unmolested with an extra 15bhp or so. I'm guessing you guys in here will soon put me straight if I'm pishing in the wind and farting in the face of purity so all berations welcomed with aplomb. Cheers crew (and please tell me I'm not the oldest fart in here or I'll start learning you about how we started rave culture, which I believe you lot still do when our grandads were bopping at the dance hall doing the jitter bug when we were your age). Have fun and go easy on me or I'll have a zim-zimmer frame wobble. Bongo. X

Yes this old chestnut. I got my hands on a set of Cobra HFCs today and thought it would be interesting to compare them to a set of OE cats and and a set of HFCs I couldn't get through an MOT despite a remap and getting them cooking. Firstly I'm not trying to pick an argument with anyone nor run down any manufacturer - please don't take offence it's not intended. The 200 cel cat brick is ~4" dia and the substrate is ~4" long. Assuming a substrate surface area of 75"sq/inch, the total surface will be 3605"sq. The 300 cel cat brick is ~4" dia and the substrate ~2.3" long. Assuming a substrate surface area of 110"sq/inch, the total surface area will be 3170"sq. About 13% less area. I've never pulled an OE cat apart, and unfortunately mine are back on under the car. If anyone happens to have a set kicking about perhaps you can let me know the dimensions, but if I recall the front down pipe bit has a 400 cl ~4" and ~2" long substrate, and the rear part has another bit of oblong substrate maybe ~4" wide x 2" tall and ~2" long. Assuming a substrate surface area of 150"sq/inch, this makes the total surface area approx 5600"sq. I'm going to see if its feasible to get a local friendly garage to do back to back emissions tests (I'll swap the cats). Seems to me there should be a linear graph of substrate area v performance that can be used to help choose an optimum substrate type and size. I found I can can buy bricks online and I have a local custom exhaust fab who can cut and weld my HFCs with new bricks. I'll keep people posted.
  26. Lovely looking car. Welcome !
  27. Ok, thankyou for the reply ill keep checking 👍
  28. The organisers haven’t released ticket sales yet. keep looking on Facebook etc.
