  1. Today
  2. Next I had the big idea of changing the colour of all the silver trim in the interior... I dunno why, I guess I like the punishment ๐Ÿ˜… Here's most of the bits that will need doing: Steering wheel button surrounds Indicator stalks Main cluster dials facia plate Buttons on either side of the main cluster Heater vent surrounds Door handles (including lock buttons) Rings on centre gauges Rectangle bezel that goes over my tablet install Rings around heater controls Big silver ring around the shifter boot Handbrake button ๐Ÿ™ƒ The trim piece on the back of the gauge cluster you can only see when looking from the outside... So I got to stripping the interior, carefully! Then it was onto prepping and masking, scuffing all pieces and cleaning with IPA. No going back now ๐Ÿซฃ Masking took an age as it had to be perfect and there were many difficult areas to cover, but any mistakes would mean unsightly overspray or silver not being covered. Next step will be paint!
  3. Ok with large exterior changes recently I turned my attention back to the interior. After having wrapped the dash in Alcantara, including A pillars and door armrests. I went back and forth on what to do with the centre waterfall area on the dash. Wrap it? Paint it? Hydro dip? ๐Ÿ˜• With the success of my earlier Alcantara wrapping and how much i liked the finish I decided to give it a bash on this piece too, I knew it would be my hardest piece as it's much more intricate and has many cut-outs etc, pretty intimidating. ๐Ÿซ  Gave it a proper clean and prep for adhesive: Apply adhesive, Cut out material and lay over piece and smooth down, removing any creases Cut off main large excess material and work over all corners and edges, carefully applying more adhesive in those areas without getting it on the face of the fabric, fun times. This is the most fiddly, messiest and most time consuming step. Now for the trickier piece lol... This is how the underside looks Finished: I also did the airbag/centre part of the steering wheel, don't worry it's just on the cover ๐Ÿ˜… This a very tricky and time consuming job, with lots that can go wrong lol. But I'm very pleased I went this route. It looks fantastic imho. Very premium and sporty.
  4. Yesterday
  5. Got the radio fully installed. A jvc-kw-m560bt double din unit. I ended up making some metal brackets myself as the kit they sell for 30 quid only has a double din frame. (Rubbish) . My wiring had been butchered by the previous owner but after some research I was able to get the steering wheel controls working. For reference. - Yellow/green wire is swc ground - orange wire is key 1 - red with green stripes wire is key 2 The unit had direct input for each of these. And then had a function to program in each button. Which was easy once hard wired in. Ran the microphone around the headliner. And a usb port for the wired apple car play/ android auto. Really pleased with how it all turned out. It was a seige.

  7. Thanks but that's not the issue. For some reason I'm not getting voltage at the pump.
  8. Car started whirring when turning the wheel so toped up the power steering. Its now not whirring but pouring out fluid when i drive.... Got the car up on the curb and some 2x4's for a quick check and didn't want to start turning the wheel whilst i was under it. So i don't know exactly where its pumping out. The parts above the hard piping look dry so I think its probably the manifold where the soft tubing connected to the hard tubing that runs along the bottom of the car. the part in red in the diagram, or the part where it goes into the power steering rack. Sorry about the state of the videos i had very limited space. What are peoples thoughts? (other than get to a garage) I won't be driving it other than to get to a garage.
  9. Try THIS. Just had this happen to me. I drilled my valve out while I await a new one from eBay as I had ZERO water coming through.
  10. Finally getting round to some interior updates. Trying to get a new to me double din radio installed. As I wanted apple car play/android auto. My existing single din didn't even have Bluetooth. Fitting was very much complicated by a previous owner having been in there before and having installed an after market amp and subwoofer(the subwoofer is long gone). But the amp and dodgy wiring job remains. Also one of the oe white plugs has been completely ripped out. This explains why my steering wheel controls never worked. Anyway I got it in for a test fit and managed to get it powered up. I'm waiting on a fascia to arrive before fully installing. I'm also going to have a go at hard wiring the steering wheel controls without any handy adapter. So let's see how that mess is gonna go lol.
  11. Not that Iโ€™m aware of, but itโ€™s a place to look given all the others are done. After that youโ€™re into multimeter and checking for signal.
  12. Did anyone find a product or solution for this? (15 years later) ๐Ÿ˜‚
  13. Earlier
  14. Nรผrburgring The car held up amazingly - all the issues I had prior to the trip were gone and had an absolute blast driving around the ring and doing some legal motorway pulls in the car, couldn't of gone any smoother in all honestly and such a breath of fresh air after the painful ownership I've had of the car leading up to this. It definitely punched above its weight keeping up with more modern and more expensive cars, unfortunately still couldn't hold a candle to my friends built evo 8 aha Here's some pics
  15. Late update: circa august Added hoodpins - went for the QuikLatch ones as I didn't really think it needed them but would rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them
  16. Mark, chap who had a 350z DE then a 2.7 Boxster then the upgrade to the Cayman S You know how we do it ๐Ÿ˜€
  17. Has this been snatched up mate? My happened one that came with the car needs gone. Lol
  18. Yep, those and the pump itself were my guesses as well but they all check out OK. If I'm correct BCM is on the righthand side of the drivers footwell? If there was water ingress I'd like to think I'd have noticed, as that's where I recently placed my crossovers. Its worth another look though. Are BCMs prone to issues on the 370?
  19. Nice work mate ๐Ÿ‘
  20. All parts are in stock, including BCM and wiper stalks. Just DM me if I can help further. Alex.
  21. So. I finally got around to looking at this issue again. Turns out that the problem was the limit switch on the window motor assembly . The switch died, which led the controller to believe that the window was always closed. I replaced it with a temporary limit switch and problem solved. P.S. The limit switch is a Panasonic AV44-C for anyone that doesnโ€™t want to buy a whole new assembly. https://za.rs-online.com/web/p/micro-switches/1738405
  22. Relay and fuse were my best guesses, any sign of water, either current or historic, around the BCM?
  23. All other operations on the stalk work, is it likely or indeed common for just two functions to fail? The intermittent does work if I adjust the frequency dial, the wipers will do one cycle every time the rotary switch is moved.
  24. Possibly the stalk control arm just a guess
  25. Hi all, I've discovered I have no working intermittent wipers or washers, I say discovered as it was the first time I've had need to use them since buying the car. So far I have checked the fuse circuit, checked the washer relay activates and can pass current, checked the pump with direct voltage and all check out OK. Is there anything else I should be checking, or does that mean something in the BCM is buggered and a new one required? Thanks Robin
  26. Thank you! You saved me from the misery of trying to unbolt the clutch master cylinder to replace it! One very important note to add. When it says to pump the clutch 5 times, the secret is not to be delicate; go ham on it like you're trying to give your clutch a happy ending ๐Ÿ˜† use your hand and pump the clutch pedal hard and fast.
