At the weekend I got round to upgrading the suspension at last .

Parts arrived from the USA . Tein springs and Tokico shocks

WP_20150620_0011_zps7vkl0sq1.jpg

Old shock and spring out ( this set up has done 91K miles so a bit tired )

Have only done a few miles but its only a little firmer than stock and should be better in the corners .

Yesterday I got the car park dents on the drivers door removed that were annoying me .

Small but I could see them .

WP_20150623_0011_zpsyags00tc.jpg

After

WP_20150623_0021_zpsehgdtdsy.jpg

All pulled out with no paint or filler so im happy with that .

18mm at the front 14 at the rear I think .

Ride is around 10% more firm / harsh but handling / feel is amazing from the 91K old shock / springs .

Nice little combo for road use and some track work .

Update time

Was booked in to Abbey Motorsport for some work to be done .

First was a new Exedy clutch and LUK DMF that was fitted and new gear box oil added .

Some pic of the old units that have done 92K miles .

Old DMF

WP_20150717_0012_zpsimwz1n8b.jpg

Old Clutch still in ok shape but some of the rivets were getting close .

WP_20150717_0021_zps4bxtewfl.jpg

WP_20150717_0061_zpswhg9nmkh.jpg

Then as the gearbox was off I had some DC sports S/S manifolds ( headers if you are from the USA ) installed .

Old log type manifold with smallish ports and uneven length tubes .

WP_20150717_0031_zpspgaw3fmf.jpg

WP_20150717_0041_zpsvhv3tfcn.jpg

New DC Sport S/S equal length manifold

WP_20150716_0011_zpss60qam6a.jpg

Installed .

WP_20150718_0031_zpsr0t1gqbl.jpg

And last to be re mapped on the dyno .

I was told that the manifolds would only give a very small gain in power and torque so the gains are about what I was expecting with the bonus of more power and torque on the whole rev range ( + 11 LB/FT at 2300 RPM ) and not moving the power and torque up all at the top of the rev range .

Another few updates over the weekend .

First was to change all x 4 Kumho tyres .

Still some good tread on them .

WP_20150801_0011_zpsj0fh6lc5.jpg

WP_20150801_0021_zps0ccc3ub0.jpg

After lots of reading and with the car being my day to day car I went for a full set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports .

WP_20150801_0181_zpssnla0neu.jpg

WP_20150801_0041_zpswwqkiedj.jpg

And the tracking done at the same time .

I will look to have a another alignment done soon but this will do for a few weeks .

001_zpsxiidod65.jpg

Also received my rear brace .

WP_20150801_0051_zpspp0lbpoq.jpg

Fitting was ok and went in nice and tight .

WP_20150801_0081_zpsbby5xnwm.jpg

WP_20150801_0091_zpszqzcffwr.jpg

WP_20150801_0171_zps5kzpwhln.jpg

Then last was to remove my Stillen induction and replace this with a 06 350Z air box .

Stillen unit

WP_20150802_0061_zpskdalibrh.jpg

Old air box next to 06 air box

WP_20150802_0011_zps4qwch74a.jpg

The inlet velocity stack on the 06 air box is larger and good for a few more BHP and LB/FT

Old

WP_20150802_0021_zpsu2yrnepc.jpg

New

WP_20150802_0031_zpsa7hzpj9d.jpg

And BMC panel filter to go with the 06 air box

WP_20150802_0041_zpsvjx7ammr.jpg

All put in and tightened up .

Price came in at £ 600 all in so not to bad .

Alan

Did you get a decent price on the tyres Alan? I opted for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's in the end, I couldn't stomach the stories of the Michelin's wear rate combined with their price.
