Ah not checked that, I'll check all the levels tomorrow, only thing I have checked is the oil, I take it if after I do top everything up I'll have to reset the ecu again?

Its on constantly,

I can switch it off by going through the pedal sequence, ive hooked it up to the computer too & reads no fault, yet the light appears again, the car has been sitting for a good while, started weekly though & and has had a good run, fresh petrol etc.

Is your Z a JDM model? some code readers that can read JOBD cannot access the various modules as well, so don't see the codes from these.

Folks I'm reading a code P0037 H02s heater control, circuit low, bank 1 sensor 2? What does this mean and how can I fix it? Does it effect performance?

Posted

It's the heater element of the O2 sensor (brings the sensor up to temp quicker when cold).

Bank 1 I think is driver side (whichever side cylinder 1 is on) and sensor 2 is the furthest away from the engine (the post cat sensor in this instance).

Swap out the sensor for a new one.

Yep, the link above pretty much tells you all you need to know and how to go about fixing it.

It won't cause any damage or have any noticeable effect on how the car drives in the short term, so don't panic.

For reference: The (bank 1 sensor 2) Sensor it relates to is fitted in the rear of the driver's side CAT.

Perfect :) thanks for your help folks, would that be why I sometimes hit a flat spot in the revs when flooring it?

Unlikely I'd say. It should only really come into effect when the engine is cold until exhaust temps ramp up.

No the cat monitor O2 sensor is only used under certain circumstances and is not used during normal running, they can actually be removed with no detrimental effects, mine ran fine without them as I swapped mine out for wide band monitors.

Bloody hell!!! Jacked the car up today and had a look, somebody has actually snipped the wires!!!!!! Both sides,!, don't know how long it's been like this as it been off the road for a few years and been in storage,

Why the hell would anybody do that? It's surely been like that since I bought it, I bought the car tested in 2010 with mot, moved away n stored the car I a secure warehouse, so wasn't done there,

Laugh is I just had it tested and it sailed through as the emissions machine was broke that day, I'm a bit concerned now though as this could have been done for god knows what reason , on the plus side, it doesn't use oil, water or anything else and is low miles, just can't understand why 1 somebody would do this & 2nd what effect it's had,

On another note, why won't this site let me post pics? I've tried to upload ones I've taken with my phone and it won't let me, says they are to large?
