Yeah but I think its a bit of a joke they can get away with saying 140mpg. It doesn't do anywhere near half of that. There has been some complaints by other manufactures so the test is up for review now. Quote

The BMW i8 is the second in a range of ‘i’ models from BMW, with the first being the BMW i3 supermini, an electric car which is also available as a range-extender hybrid.
