Hi

Anyone know if the is one of the above on an 07 HR. Need to know wether the flywheel is Kaput . 22 k miles.

Cheers

As far as I know, the flywheel cannot be inspected without removal of the clutch. The clutch wear can be estimated by looking at the position of the clutch engagement fork but not the flywheel. This is to the best of my knowledge on a DE zed however.

If you are running a DMF you will know if it is kaput with just listening to it and also the feel through the clutch operation.

Or just pull the box and carry out a full inspection.

When you say the feel through the clutch, is it just a faint tapping whilst it's depressed or something more noticeable?

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I took it to a clutch specialist yesterday and they have confirmed that the clutch is fine.

Mark at Abbey has indicated that my problem is probably a common one and related to the exhaust cams. An Uprev would cure the problem.

I also noticed yesterday that's the revs drop to 1500 whilst decelerating there is a noticeable pause before it drops further.

Having the TB stripped and cleaned on Monday.

Will keep you informed of progress.

Thanks again

Hi again

To answer Zedmanlek.

Feels like a slight surge changing up from first and second. On decelerating in gear once the revs fall down between 2500 and 150 a noticeable uneven rev fall.discovered yesterday that the needle stops at 1500 for a fraction of a second then drops to normal idle at around 850.standing still out of gear and raising the revs up to 5000 there is no noticeable stuttering.

Went to a clutch specialist yesterday and they said bothe the DMF were good.

Advice from four

different garages

1. Flywheel. .... Wrong

2 . Spark plugs, air fow meters, air filters. ...Cleaned MAF. Replaced spark plugs and filter. Cleaned entrance to TB.

3. Clean the TB ... Being done Monday

4. Reset exhaust cams and Uprev. Planned in two weeks after updating oem exhaust and cats.l

Hope this clarifies where I,m up to.

Thanks again for your comments and advice.

Alex

Actually not really feel anything different through the clutch pedal just a slight surge of power as I depress. Almost like a surge of fuel gets through at last minute.

No noticeably different sounds from the clutch .....sounds normal. That was the first thing the clutch specialist listened for.

Replacement clutch and DMF is going to be the last course of action so I'm going to plod on with the TB clean and the Uprev first.

Thanks for the advice as always.

Hi Rickdon

No noise from the clutch other than the usual change of tone when you I depress the clutch to engage first. I gather this is perfectly normal.

Moved away from the clutch as a potential cause on pro advice and looking now at TB cleaning before moving on
