Oil level

I'm rather new to the z scene wondering if the 350z uses much oil or do they tend to stay the same level?

Some do use oil but the norm is that generally they don't ... mine used to use over a litre per 1000 miles

Check my oil regularly in my DE engined Zed ~ usually every week or ever other. So far hasn't used a drop from what I can tell even with the occasional spirited driving session.

 

Checking it tomorrow morning on the flat in my garage but I'll be surprised if I need to top it up at all.

Had mine about 3 weeks, checked it when bout it just checked again and it's quite low, wondering why oil light hasn't come on if it's dropped low

The oil light indicates low pressure not low oil level ... if the light comes on it's a prelude for some expensive repairs ... check the oil level weekly until you get to know how much it's using

Read it weekly for a few months until you know if your engine likes a drink of the black stuff, or not.

What age is you car ? Is it a rev up ? Iv got a rev up that like drinking oil

Rev up? It's a 2004 gt model...as long as it's not burning oil I'm happy, I get some more oil for it tomorrow

Just in case you're not aware you should be using a 5W30 oil in the Zed. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-60169-silkolene-pro-s-5w-30-ester-synthetic-oil-for-high-performance-engines.aspx

Get used to checking oil on the zed regularly and also the stupid dip stick on the early models is tricky to read but once you get the hang of it it's fine

I'm finding it near impossible to read the dipstick! Grrr oil all over it

The best way to top your oil up is to top it up with the dipstick still in then leave it 5min and pull it out wipe it then put it back in and pull it out to read the level, if your getting a reading staggered up it the level is prob to low or you have being topping it up with the dip stick out :-)

Mine DE doesn't use a drop between services but I still check regularly just in case.

Revups had some type of ring issue clearance mine consumed 1l every 1000miles..check your oil often just to be safe

plus one . If I was you I would do a oil change and fill to H on the dip stick to start a fresh and then check every 500 miles ...

has anyone ever fixed the problem and what did it cost them to do? Iv seen a lot off posts on the us forums and they say the long block needs changing as well:-/

Mine uses 1l every 10.000km. 06 rev-up.
