Would you buy a car if you'd not seen it start from cold?

Someones offered to meet me half way to look at a golf 1.4, obviously from cold you can gain a lot (i.e. if it starts first time, blows a load of smoke out etc).

Just wondered what opinions are? Or does the seller sound too desperate?

He's in northampton, I'm in Norwich so would probably train over to cambridge.

Any thoughts anyone?

I personally wouldn't . If I new I had a good car for sale I wouldn't go out my way to sell it , because it's a good car it will sell anyway

You see, I would. I'd happily travel a bit to meet a buyer if I felt they were serious. But, at the same time i'd still rather see it start from cold. I bought my Zed when it was warm and I sold by motorbike when it was warm, no problems with either.

I wouldnt worry, and TBF Norwich to Northampton is arse kicking distance. Im going up to Newcastle to look at a car in the next week ........... and have just found out its cheaper to fly from Heathrow than get a train from Cambridge. WTF?

Be careful up there!
