GMballistic Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Just reading that Caterham are going to be making some bikes from next year. Look pretty cool from the pics. Motorized. Peddle cycles (Two types: classic & modern style) Quote
GMballistic Posted December 8, 2013 Author Posted December 8, 2013 I bet they're cheap........... NOT! Sure Halfords could do you a deal. Quote
ZEUS Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I thought a couple were going to be electric bikes, according to mcn anyway Quote
GMballistic Posted December 8, 2013 Author Posted December 8, 2013 I thought a couple were going to be electric bikes, according to mcn anyway Yes you are correct. The motorized "Brutus" at the top is a 750cc, single cylinder DOHC liquid cooled motor and the two other bikes are electric/peddle powered. http://caterhambikes.com/ Quote
wizurd Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 (edited) Electrics are getting pretty good these days. Not sure about that first one. Those tyres don't look like they let you turn in very easily. Edited December 8, 2013 by wizurd Quote
ZEUS Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 First one would be a nightmare with those balloon tyres on ! Quote
GMballistic Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 First one would be a nightmare with those balloon tyres on ! Agreed, ...but usually the sort of people that can afford these things usually have more money than sense anyway. Quote
ZEUS Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Very true I cant image trying to hussle it around Mallory park in under a minute! Bet its interesting to ride though with a 750cc single lump in it Quote
Ekona Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 What the hell are they thinking?! Please tell me that's a hoax... Quote
GMballistic Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 ^^ No hoax Ekona. Apparently it's legit. Quote
ZEUS Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 As pieces of design they are pretty nice but as a bike ..... I wouldn't be seen dead on one! Quote
GMballistic Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 As pieces of design they are pretty nice but as a bike ..... I wouldn't be seen dead on one! Definitely. I like the modern "mountain bike" but very much doubt we will see any of those bikes down hilling. Probably just end up being owned by some footballer or Chris Evans, as he seems to have money to burn. 1 Quote
R35LEE Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Cool designs but all a bit pointless Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk Quote
Steel Lynx Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I bet they're cheap........... NOT! Sure Halfords could do you a deal. Wonder if I can get one under my company's 'ride to work' scheme.... Those chunky tyres would really help with the 16 miles each way!! Quote
