Front bumper reflectors - Will these fit?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to get some clear front bumper reflectors for my 04 Zed but my local dealer reckons that the Nissan dealers no longer stock them at the minute due to stock acquisition problems. Does anybody know if this is true? Has anybody bought some recently?

Will these fit with them being American? Clicky

Cheers,

Seem expensive, I bought a set for £9 a few months ago on ebay. Still not fitted them though

£9...wow..thats cheap!

I assume it was a private sale as opposed to an online trader?

thats the place where i got mine from. Fitted ok on my 03 model, don't see why the 04 would be different.

£9 is cheap. I had a good look about too and couldn't find them for that price.

Can anyone confirm that this isnt a bumper off job? I quite fancy a pair myself, but too lazy to search for the answer :teeth:

Im pretty sure it is a bumper off job, partly the reason I have not fitted mine yet

Chris,

I asked this question the other day and got this very useful link. You don't have to remove the bumper.

I managed to get to one by taking off the wheel arch lining, but the other is behind the washer bottle so i needed to unscrew part of the bumper, took me about 40mins.

Cheers matey, I knew I had seen it somewhere, but was too late and I had done too much driving (sans Zed  ) to do a search.

Bumpety bump :teeth:

Has anyone put these on a UK car? I tried to follow the link Craig provided, but on the left side (passenger) there also seems to be a bottle in the way when I pull back the wheel arch liner

I am thinking that I will tackle the left and right side in the same way as they did the right in that take off the front of the bumper. Is there anything stopping me taking off the side of the bumper as they do on the right to get to the passengger side of mine?

Looks like it was a bit of luck anyway, just after I put it back together its started to rain!

I think the bumper has to come off. Its the main reason mine are still here in the packaging

And the main reason I sold mine on. Someone posted a guide to remove the bumper which seemed easy after a bottle of wine. Not so easy sober

Hoped it would be as easy at the linked guide. I still dont think it will be much harder than they suggest, just that you have to part remove the bumper on both sides.

As a stop gap, I've ordered a carbon fiber sheet from eBay to cover the current amber reflectors. Not sure how well this will work

Thats the quide I used, or tried to use. However, on the passenger side (the first side they tackle) there is a bottle/resevoir in the way on mine. Hence the discussion about part removing the bumper as they do for drivers side. I'm going to attempt to do as they do for the drivers side for both sides on mine tomorrow night hopefully, and will post pics of how I get on. Pray for good weather ;)

Im finally gonna fit mine :yahoo:

Once I get back from holiday I'll be getting my front bumper repaired so I'm gonna get them to fit them while the bumper is off B)

Ohhh yeahhhhh! After much blood, sweat and nearly some tears... (aplogies for the poor pics, camera phone ahoy!)

That was one hell of a sod! I basically followed the guide to remove part of the bumper doing the same for each side. The headlight washers are a major pain as they just get in the way, mainly of the top screw of the reflector. Bumper seems pretty easy to get off, didnt pose any hassle apart from the headlight washers being in the way.

Some other piccies:

Carbon lip (cheers sinbad  )

More carbon bits are in the post from Oz and the US, will show all when they are done.

A bit of exhaust porn for Louis, done very quickly with Autosol - needs doing properly:

I'll do some proper pics with my 350D when all the other bits are here and its properly clean :teeth:
