  1. Hi Digsy, Yeah, I manage to get up about 5 times a season depending on whether I'm at sea or not. Not such a great season so far for the mighty Toffees!! Craig.
  2. My 350Z is now up for sale as I'm deploying to the Far East for 7 months in February and would rather it went to a good home instead of being sat in my garage. Some of you may recognize the car as it used to belong to Louis on here. Pistonheads advert link below. I live in Plymouth, Devon. Pistonheads Ad Cheers, Craig.
  3. Does anybody know the weight of the 370Z yet? Hopefully no more than 1350kg.
  4. I deliberately didn't slag the 370Z off when I first saw it as I was sure it was going to be a grower. I didn't like it to start with but sure enough I'm coming round to the fact that it will be a great car when its launched. I'm not sure how it will sell as I think it may nick potential buyers of the GTR especially as it will be cheaper.

    370z

Does anybody know how much the 370Z weighs? If it not lighter than the current 1.5t Zed then its a backward step in my eyes.
  6. Ha ha! I think I got a bit carried away with the resizing tool. Maybe its my subconscious telling me what size to go for!!
  7. Thanks for the reply Adrian. I've sent a PM. I've done some (very dodgy) Photoshopping to put the Hanzo's on some sample internet pics of a gunmetal Zed side on (easier to do) . I'm interested to see the colour against a gunmetal Zed as I wasn't sure it would look as good as the white Zed which, in my opinion, is hands down the best colour for the Zed. The first pic is my Zed, the rest are internet sourced. What do you think?
  8. Does that mean my rear 245 tyres will stretch to fit the wider 9.5" wheel?
  9. It's the closest to 8" for the front I can get. I don't want clearance issues with the caliper. Lexx told me he has about 1mm clearance from wheel to caliper. The rears because they are the same as my current Rays and so the Proxes will fit nicely. What sizes would you recommend?
  10. Thats good to know. Do you do these wheels Phil? If so, how much delivered for four in number 8.5 x 18"? (wheels only) Cheers, Craig.
  11. I'm happy with that. Did Lexx need spacers for the front? I'll PM him.

    Dotz Hanzo's

I'm interested in getting the 18" Dotz Hanzo's wheels for my 2004 Zed. However, I've noticed that they don't do a 8 x 18" for the front. The closest I can get is 8.5 x 18". My question is would the 225 front tyre stretch to fit the extra 12.5mm without compromising the integrity or safety? I want the 18" as I've recently brought some new Toyo Proxes T1-R's and I don't want to fork out for new tyres. The rears are no problem as the rear Ray is 8 x 18" anyway so the 245's will fit straight on. Does anybody know if there will be any clearance issues with the front caliper with the front wheel being half an inch wider? Will I need spacers? What is the offset (ET) and PCD of the studs for the Zed? Any advice appreciated, Cheers, Craig.
  13. How very dare you sir! Go and wash your mouth out! Its Zedski or the Highway Mouth well and truely washed out!!!
  14. I was shocked how much the value of the Zed has fallen. I was thinking of selling mine and getting either a BMW M3 or a Porsche 911. In the current financial market I think I'll be keeping it for a while longer.
  15. SAFC99, This might help. Find below a photo of an old CV joint on the left and a new joint on the right from when I did the work recently. As you can see the new joint has some "hot work" marks that circle the casing. This is the new uprated joint and should be what you can see if the work has been carried out as stated. Its worth a look underneath with a torch. You might need a wire brush to remove the road crud that may cover the joint. Craig.
  16. Driving through a tunnel in second gear and then booting it.....with the window down obviously!!
  17. A no-brainer for me this....its far too lardy. I would give anything to make my Zed 250kg lighter. If Nissan could develop a Zed that weighs around 1250kg it would be approx 1000 times more awesome than it is now. Craig.
  18. It must have killed you to say that!!
  19. and thread lock ? None of the original threads had threadlock on them when I dismantled it all. The six nuts and bolts for the flange actually have spring washers on them which negate the necessity for threadlock. It won't do any harm to use it if you want but Nissan never used it in the first place and it all stayed together okay. You could use it for peace of mind though.
  20. Yeah, the driveshaft nut doesn't need to be replaced but the six nuts and bolts for the flange are supposed to be renewed. I inspected them visually and decided I could reuse them as they were in good nick. It won't harm to change them though if you can get them. All bolts and nuts were fully torqued up as per Nissan TSB and service manual. You can see my torque wrench in the background on some of my pics .
  21. I got a quote from Nissan for the parts to do the work myself. I can't remember the exact figure but it was about £200. I don't think they would swap the CV joints unless you held their family hostage. I agree with the previous post and reckon they did the regreasing quick fix. They shouldn't have failed in 3mths because I've read online somewhere that Nissan recognised the inadequate original CV joint and now their part number is for an upgraded CV joint.
  22. Thanks for the feedback guys. I was glad to help. I felt I rushed the ending slightly as I was up to my elbows in grease and didn't want to handle my digital camera too much. Cheers, Craig.
