CJRamze Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 This car is bloody gorgeous. Thanks i love the mirrored cooling plate different to the usual carbon one, and it may be going back but when you had your P3 service did you do this yourself or send it off for its P3? Did it myself. I'll do all work on it, accept from things that require a specialist, in which case it goes to Abbey Motorsport. It's such a pleasure to work on from a DIY point of view. I would love to work on my Car myself but I'm utterly terrified of breaking things and because its worth so much to me it heightens the fear! Quote
badCOK Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 lovely looking car mate, paint work looks spot on Quote

No it was about £20 I think, that's where mine was cloudy at the top and it did a really good job of clearing it. Quote
Jp606 Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 Returned from our 1700 mile road trip round the UK the other day, car is absolutely filthy caked in dirt so will be spending the weekend giving it a good detail ready for the winter. On the last day someone decided to hit my car whilst it was parked up and drive off without leaving any details, which has cracked my rear bumper and scratched it, so need a respray/repair now Quote
Jp606 Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 Been enjoying the car for a few months now and quite happy with how it is, however I'll always want more! Thinking about supercharging next year if I can get the funds, so the first step towards this is a better, true dual exhaust, so I've placed an order for an Invidia Gemini with Tarmac my Cobra resonated cat-back will be up for sale as soon as I've fitted the Invidia if anyone is interested. Next up will be some Berks decats I think and a tweak of my UpRev to take these breathing mods into account. Here's a pic of it looking all shiny when we were Christmas shopping at Bluewater. 3 Quote
GMballistic Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Look's great and interested to see how your plans turn out for you. One thing, if you're seriously thinking about going the FI route then I wouldn't bother getting your car remapped after fitting the Invidia & De-Cats especially if it's doubtful it will be all that long before you get the charger fitted. Only reason I say this is because obviously you'll need another UpRev done after fitting the charger so you could be throwing £300 at an UpRev that you may only have for a few months before you'll need to spend £400 on another UpRev for when you get the charger fitted. Fyi ~ I said £300 and £400 for the UpRev as it costs around £100 more for having an FI car done because it needs more time setting up/mapping. Quote
Jp606 Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 (edited) Yeah you're right, I meant decats either way but if I don't go FI, then I'll get a tweak for them Mark quoted around £400 for a charger tune. Either way I'd probably wait until after my MOT in March before fitting decats as I don't know how 'friendly' they are yet... Edited December 30, 2014 by Jp606 Quote

Jp606 Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 So I fitted the Invidia Gemini today, nice and easy. Lovely sound, quieter than the Cobra, but louder than OEM. It's a different sound to the Cobra, more like an American muscle car type sound It's a really nice quality bit of kit and all fitted together nicely. Cobra compared to Gemini: The X-pipe is actually separate pipes welded together, they don't mix so it is a proper true dual. I think a bumper tuck might look good with this backbox. Quote
Bodyboarder81 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Looks great I have the same sat in my garage waiting to be fitted !! Very very good build quality on these exhausts Quote
Daryl Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Iv got an Invidia true dual coming my way shortly, looking forward to getting it fitted. Iv currently got a non resonated Scorpion, so will be interested to hear how the sound changes. Did you do yours on your drive? Thinking I may do the same, as only had the Cats and Y pipe fitted last year, so should be pretty easy to remove. Quote

It's a bit quieter than what my Cobra resonated was, but a different sound which I like. I think I will add decats soon to increase the volume a bit. Quote
Daryl Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Iv got Invidia HFC's so hoping the Dual will get rid of the rasp and make a sweet sound. If its a little quieter then im sure my neighbors would not mind. Quote
terry06 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Love this car, great mods so far and looks so clean. New exhaust looks bet it will sound great with decats! Cant wait to see if/when you start the FI build. Will you be doing the work yourself? Quote
Jp606 Posted January 29, 2015 Author Posted January 29, 2015 Yeah that's the plan Got to try and scrape the pennies together, so could be while yet/if at all! Quote
terry06 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I'd love to do it to mine too. The sense of achievement at the end would be great. But like you say it's not cheap and since I am saving up for other things it will have to remain a fantasy for a good while. I hope you get the funds together to go ahead with it Quote
Jp606 Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Me too Either way, I love how it is at the moment, drives so well. Nearly had it two years now and it's still as exciting to drive as the day I got it Quote
