What do you think of this 350Z??

Cheers. I'm going to see if they will get the paint sorted for me. I don't mind paying for the wheels myself to be honest, when comparing similar age and mileage cars I think the price already reflects the work that needs done to an extent.

Gotta say tho, Im glad I went to test one of these. That V6 sounds amazing and makes the s2000 feel a bit weedy in comparison!

It's fair to say I'm pretty exited right now.

I was planning on changing the seats... gotta be honest its not going to be a priority now after seeing them, i thought they looked fine, comfortable too. Not bothered about cruise control either... The head unit is crap but Im not going to let that put me off buying.

If it's still on the original clutch how long can I expect to get out of it, providing the car hasn't been ragged about like mad?

I don't fancy a huge bill one month into ownership.

Just noticed the rear lights don't match, is this normal? It was missing the cover on the little light on the side of the car near the front arch too.

All in all it needs a little work but I quite like the idea of doing it up anyway. Cars got shed loads of character.

Just found some reviews of the garage that has this Z online and they are all bad. One even mentions the salesman I am dealing with by name.

Massively off putting.

I'm in a massive hurry to get a car tho so I don't have much choice.

This one is the next closest too me and it''s 100 mile away. Not keen on the plastidip or the wheel colour but it looks clean and it a little newer. I could always get the train down and buy it on the spot if I liked it.

I only have one day off, so need to work out which car I'm going to go for :headhurt:

Clutch on a zed is generally expected to last 60k miles. But again some people changed at 40, and jm sure I read on this gorum some1 is near 100k withoit changing clutch.

Changed clutch last week at 61k miles. In total 850 for clutvh, fly and labour

Just checked ad, defjnetly be able to bring price down on that.

I bought 54 Gt spec, silver coupe, 42k miles. Ad was 8,5 I got for 8k. I got an average deal, otgers have been alot more lucky and others didn't realise you could look at other cars and paid o.t.t.

Have a good look around the car aswell for the interior. Burn marks behind the seats for example, when u throw a cigarette out the window in the zed it flies back into the car. On the driver side window pillar, if fabruc is slightly darker its because its smokers car and had dyed the colour.

£6k is good price but bear in mind that full exhaust system/breathing mods and up rev/map will prob cost you £1k plus the change of wheels if you want Rays. Just thought I would point that out if your tight on budget as you will be paying in the long run.

Just make sure the repair job on scratches etc is good as the colour match on Zeds can be tough.

That 2005 Z looks better but honestly dont rush into things too much, I know its tough to keep a level head once you drive one!

If you've got just the one day off, why don't you catch a train and go see Greg at Trade Link? Rather than limiting your choice to a couple of cars that are close to you geographically, TL have a number in stock to take a gander at and most are close to your budget.

You'll have a nice drive home aswell then :drive1:

Do check what comes with gt that you would like to keep. My gt came without rays (I hate rays anyway) but I could have sold them if I knew. But their expensive to buy if you like them.

Brembos, another big one people like. Cost a fair bit to install them.

Quick update lads......

The first car is now mine!

Got it for 5,800 but the car is getting the paint and the rear panel sorted too. I could have probably haggled a little further but to be honest I think I've got it for a fair price and I didn't want to take the ****.

He gave me the keys before the sale and let me take it out on my own for a good run. I've seen loads of threads with people complaining about the speed of these cars, saying they feel heavy and slow..... What a load of crap. This thing feels FAR quicker than my ep3 type r. Nearly put it through the wall of the dealers car park when I first drove out.... was not expecting THAT much low end torque haha!

Clutch feels fine, no slipping in high gears or anything, he seemed unsure if it was on the first clutch or not. I'm going to keep putting a little money aside for a safety blanket incase it gives in, I'm sure my warranty won't be worth the paper its written on anyway.

All the millage checks out, HPI check clear, full years MOT and it's getting a service before I pick it up on saturday.

Seems good so far but I have really bad luck with cars so I expect something to break within a few month. As long as the engine is sound thats the main thing.

Can't wait to have this sat on my drive, sounds sad but I'm looking forward to spending the full weekend cleaning it and making it my own.

Has anyone heard of falcon performance? I've heard they are a 350z specialist and they are based not too far from me, I will be taking it up their for the guys to have a good look over it for me.

In the mean time :yahoo:

Congratulations, and I'm not surprised by your ":yahoo:".

Yep, I'd recommend Falcon. They've done the last few services on mine and will be doing the next. Finding something to do in Middlesbrough while they have it is difficult though

Well done mate, well happy for you. Im sure it will be a great motor!

All about making it your own!! Countdown to zeditis!!

haha! It's already begun. I'm shopping for mods online now and I haven't even picked it up yet! I've already bought a polishing machine and loads of cleaning goodies and I'm getting it booked in with Falcon performance for a once over! Oh and I've ordered a new reg plate as the current one is looking taty.

I'll be looking to get a full exhaust system as soon as I can free up some cash, I also want some bride seats.

Looks wise I want to keep it as standard as possible. As I get older I'm starting to go off jap style modding (body kits, carbon bonnets etc). I'm going to go for a very clean OEM look, maybe get it lowered, furb the wheels in the original colour and leave it at that.

Or atleast thats the plan at the minute anyway! :D

Thanks, The lad I just spoke to from Falcon says he is a member on here. He seemed like a decent bloke, quite chatty, he owns a Z too.

Does anyone know if the number plate on the Z is the standard size? Hope I've ordered the right one haha. Was a bit exited when doing it.
