Dave-350 Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Hi guys, I cant be assed to go in to massive detail about this but I thought I would give you all a few words about some products. Car: 350z Gunmetal Grey Compounds: Scholl S17+ Pads: Lake Country Constant Pressure Polisher: DAS6 DA Clay: Bilt Hamber Others: Usual Iron X, Tardis, Born-Slippy Lube, mint rims... Anyway, firstly if you are using any other clay bar other than the Bilt Hamber clay you need to sort yourself out - Seriously, this clay is the best I have ever used and you get mucho bang-for-your-buck. It can also be used with water or lube. Anyway, wash the car by hand using a mixture of shampoos. cleaned the wheels with Minty Rims cleaner. Snow Foam mix with Megs new shampoo. Clayed using BH clay and born Slippy lube. Then LC:CP pads with scholl S17+... 12 hours later - Swirl free paint. Quote
dErZ Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Good work Looks like Scholl S17+ is has a heavy cut. How have you refined it? Quote
Dave-350 Posted June 3, 2013 Author Posted June 3, 2013 Good work Looks like Scholl S17+ is has a heavy cut. How have you refined it? I wouldn't say its a heavy cut - More of an in-between/medium cut. But it depends on how much you work it. With a DA you need to make sure you get it up to speed (Speed 6 on the DAS6) then work down making around 8 - 10 passes. This will give you quite a light cut but also enough so you don't get any marring/hazing. It was quite a hot day when I did this, so when it's colder you would probably need to work it a bit more to make sure the compound is completely broken down. I would recommend it anyway, but would work better with a Rotary. 1 Quote

Stutopia Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Nice job. I've got a GM, think I might have to go down this route. Quote
r37 Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 follow it up with s30, doesnt sound like it will make a massive difference but will crisp up the finish by miles. looks nice though. Quote
Bems Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 The bilt hamber clay, which do you use soft or medium? Quote
ilogikal1 Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Soft should be fine, especially if you're using fallout and tar remover first. Quote
