Rusty sump pan, anyone else had this?

Ok so having put about 100ml of coolant in the oil filler by mistake and been roasted for it by everyone for doing it and in spite of common sense telling me it wouldn't matter much, thought I would change the oil and trace a slight oil leak at the same time.

Long story short...the oil sump pan is quite badly rusted, particularly in one corner. Possibly allowing oil to seep, it doesn't seem to be from the drain plug or from the gasket and the filter seal seems ok. Bit of a pain and quite expensive, think i might have to do the oil and filter change now and replace the pan next time.

Anyone had this?? Nissan said it can happen particularly if the car has been kept near the sea! Mine looks like it was kept under the sea

Also, the oil pipe from the bottom of the filter is corroded badly.

Shall be interested to hear of similar experience.

Thanks

They do tend to corrode a bit but they are not expensive and very easy to replace.

Preowned in stock and good to go same next day at £30.00 each.

Also there is not a gasket between the sump pan and mid sump.

Alex. :)
