snoged Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 when i depress the clutch pedal now the is a dull click noise when it gets to about 3/4 down and the same again on the way up does not seem to happen when first driven but after a bit of use it starts anyone any ideas ? thanks Quote
spursmaddave Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 It could be the spring mechanism, this happened on mine... A really good soaking with white silicon grease once a week for a few weeks sorted it It's awkward but you need to get your head under pointing up at the pedals and you will see the spring, then press the pedal in and you will see if this is the issue Quote
snoged Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 nice one mate ill give it a go thankyou Quote
spursmaddave Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 No worries, if it is that then excellent, if it is the clutch going then expensive Quote
ph 7 Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I also had the click, it disappeared over a couple of weeks. I agree with SMD. Feels terrible and no matter how slow you use the pedal it does it. Quote
snoged Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 spot on ph 7 but the clutch bites ok and its a perfect drive just the annoying "click" Quote
Stutopia Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) I have this too. Is this the right stuff? http://www.maplin.co.uk/multi-purpose-siliconegrease-29006 or this lithium based stuff http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_221665_langId_-1_categoryId_165705 Edited March 2, 2013 by SuperStu 1 Quote
spursmaddave Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 The Halfords stuff is what I used. Like I said get a torch and get your head in the driver footwell and you will see the clutch pedal assembly, its the spring and a tiny little catch that clicks at as you say about 30% of the way in.... A good few soakings and sorted, I do all my pedals now and again Quote
WhackyWill Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Had this on my R32 and it was the spring as SMD said sorted it with some lube. Quote
