It's now the Registered Keeper who is ultimately liable for the fines if they can't/won't name the driver, much like the S172 forms for speeding. Up until now it used to be that only the driver was liable for the parking charge, but the law is changing so that the companies can go directly after the RK. And now I have a shiny disciplinary note on my file and still had to pay. If I'd taken it as far as court I'd have won, as confirmed by two lawyers I spoke to, however as you can imagine I'd have just had to quit my job after that. Welcome to the world of genuine ignorance and stupidity. From now on, any time I need to rest on a motorway I'm booking into a hotel on company expense.
