If offered a course, take it, it saves money and you'll definitely learn something ... I've had two goes (in different counties ... that's the benefit of living within a few miles of 4 different police authorities) and still have zero points on my licence ...

... and before anyone asks

34 in a 30 in the Aston :drive1

44 in a 40 in the Arosa :drive1

I now drive on the cruise all the time in the Merc ... very relaxing

I know the feeling, same sort of area for me too but rules is rules.

Also the speed awareness course is informative and not as bad as you might think.

Everyone gets caught at some point!

My missus got 36 in a 30 a few years back and was offered speed awareness. I on the other hand got flashed by a van doing 72 in a 60 in the middle of nowhere and get 5 points and fine, apparently the police didn't feel my offence warranted the speed awareness course. Definitely take the course if they offer it, when I checked a few weeks back, 3 points would load my premium by 10%->15% if i remember rightly.

I got done for 36 in a 30 at 7am on a thursday in leeds years ago. Pre awareness course though, so didn't have any choice but to take the points!
