Warped Discs

Recommended Posts

Iv started to notice that my car shakes/judders while braking. Im going to take the wheels off and have a good poke around, but it feels suspiciously like the discs are warped.

Other than taking the discs off and checking them on a surface table,is there any other way of checking the discs? They are DBA discs, though cant remember what ones. (slotted)

I doubt if you have warped a DBA rotor.

Check the colour markings on the rotor for over temperature, however as Dan has said, give them a really good bed in as it will probably just be pad transfer.

Have you removed and inspected the pads?

Run out on the rotors / hubs can be checked insitu using a gauge.

And don't forget about DTV.

Alex :)

Had a look at his site this morning, will take the car out abit later, and bed the brakes back in,and see if that cures the issue. Failing that,il look at getting them skimmed. Though dont want to spent money where its not needed, not with the impending clutch change.
