Most powerful NA Zed?

but with no filters? won't that **** up the engine very quickly?

normally they are fitted with either little foam hats (easiest way to explain it) or like a filter block that goes over one side. (so if you have a V6 it would be 1 foam block over each bank of 3 cylinders)

i wouldnt have thought there would be room in the Zed engine bay, it does look cool though

i havent seen any individual throttle body units though,

i wonder if there are any VTEC type units for the Zed, my old Prelude had a 2.2 engine with 220Bhp, my old M3 had 3.2 with 320Bhp...it seems in both units the variable valve timing was the key enabler

that first video shows they fit. don;t forget your removing both the upper and lower plenum as thes go straight on to the cylinders.

and in that first video you also see the bonnet has massive vents in right on top of the intakes, so its sucking cool air straight from outside.

there isn't a specific kit as such from what i'm aware of you build your own to fit the engine. Jenvy would be my first port of call as they are one of the largest ITB supplies. and a popular choice for most people going the ITB route.

others use bike throttle bodies.

if you have the DE engine your unlikely to see a gain of 75 hp without spending major cash.

that red Zed with the ITB's was at 370 odd bhp. have a read of what else was fitted though.

you'd also need to be running new manifolds a decent exhaust and possibly water injection to maximise your setup.

but ITB's are notoriously a PITA to setup. i think you have to raise the engines compression and getting them to idle steady can be a challenge. i've also heard they need alot of attention so possibly not always the most reliable. but if setup right and done properly they are so awesome.

and they've been run on cars for years, its proper old school tech

well you have presented me with new options,

at the moment ive sorted the exhaust up to the cats, now im focusing on the intake, so i ordered the h-dev spacer and MREV 2 lower, hopefully getting the airbox mod too, just waiting to see if my garage are willing to to try and fit new headers and cam shafts, i know most people think engine removal is easier...its all about money!

i have spent 4k so far, but haven't scratched the surface :drunk:

Probably Adam @ Z1 with 320whp

Giles, who was admin over the other place for a while used to have a 350hp N/A z aswell, but I'm sure that was flywheel not wheel power

Sasha from SG-motorsports before he shut up shop ans concentrated on other things 372 whp

IMO i wouldnt if I was you. No offence but you dont seem to know that much and this is something that needs alot of thought. Also you say its all about money but a n/a is going to cost you more than an fi setup as everything is so precise and you cant skimp and save.

Also vtec in a vq35 :bangin: The m3 also uses ITB's. Yes vanos is like vvt but thats not the main reason it makes good power. Do you know how vtec works? I know this probably comes across as I know more than you know nothing but I'm only highlighting that without solid research you will be left with no money and a zed which is not much faster than standard

Why not give abbey 10-15k and they will most likely give you a decent car.

I thought cams wont give you any increase without increasing comp? You really need someone who knows their way around a zed for a good build IMO. :)

Assuming that you have a DE rather than a rev-up, the MREV 2 does nothing on the early cars - its designed for 06+ cars

i think you might be in over your head on this one.

or you need to do more research.

its all well and good asking questions but i don't think any of us are going to plan your build for you.

you'll need to take the start info and get reading, lots and lots of reading.

+1 ^^^

You could quite easily fin yourself well out of your depths :boat:

If your only looking to go for 350-400whp just bolt on a supercharger, you will get same linear power delivery as NA for a fraction of the cost & the stock internals will handle the power

+100 and some ^^^^^

There are no cheap ways of making Z's go quickly.

If you are using stock internals

Supercharger build will cost between £3500-10000+ depending which kit you use and if you can do the work yourself or you need a specialist to install it.

Add another £3-4000 for a twin turbo build.

A complete engine rebuild will start at £3000.

It's a lot cheaper to make other cars go quickly.

But it's hard to beat the smile a twin turbo Z gives you. :D

well i was joking about the M3 and VTEC.

Secondly this is on advice from various people, not formulated on my own opinion

that was aimed at Dblock...try not to be so patronising please

Maybe its you aviator, it could be deemed as a little intimidating ;):stir:

Advice from who? I can't see many people on here giving you the sort of advice you've been given TBH
