Best Y-pipe for 313?

Dear fellow Zedders,

I regret to say that my exhaust is blowing....on the car that is.

It's the right cylindrical bit on the y pipe that's cracked. The car is a 313 and the y pipe and exhaust are genuine nismo mated with high flow cats (think ultimate racing, will look into it).

I would be grateful if you could share your wisdom with me on the best y pipes for a 313 out there that would fit/work with the nismo and hfcs. Priority is power :drive1

Chris, I had a nismo y-pipe also that went. The original flexis are very short and under tension. Get two new flexis welded in for about 140 quid at an exhaust specialist and it will my far better. The welder that done mines put some on that were 10mm longer and it took all the tension off them.

Thanks for the input guys.

Any idea why the xyz comes with a resonator too? Straight pipe is better for performance?

Less rasp with the resonator bud

I think you find with Chris, it is how many more BHP's it gives that matters rather than more DCB's

I like torque too Colin :teeth:

Thank you all again and I ll be waiting for more info on Monday.

If it doesn't make a difference in performance I could do with less raspiness but I wonder whether the XYZ is worth double than stillen

Neil I am worried that the seams won't be smooth and will mess up air flow...how did yours look like mate?

+1 on the Motordyne - never had an issue with it, sounds mental, performs superb - nil complaints what so ever!

(I've had mine on the car now for - heck - 12 to 16 months now I think  )

Resonator or not? Heading the XYZ way me thinks :)

I was recommended by Abbey to take the Race Cat (singular which I guess is high flow) and then some Japspeed De-cats. This allows me to pass at MOT time. So I didn't have a choice about a resonator. To be fair, I have no rasp.

Although Japspeed are known for being poor quality, they couldn't really get test pipes wrong

I'll be honest and say it's one of the best mods on the car, apart from the MREV 2, love the sound once you hit 3k+ and that's with an oem exhaust. I'm contemplating replacing the back section for a Motordyne TDX 2 it's that good

On a side note....

Coming to Wales this year :teeth: ??

EDIT** (Now with Pic - where you'll see the race cat as they call it, in place of what could have been a resonator or straight pipe)

I love this post! Does it fit the hr? I can go for the one with the cat and test pipes and sell my HFCs!
