jables Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 With the purchase of my new Z I noticed there was quite a lot of wind noise coming from the passenger window, particularly noticeable at motorway speeds. I tried the reset window procedure but no joy. The motor seemed fine as well. On close inspection with the window lowered about 8mm I noticed that it wasn't touching the upper rubber seal tightly all the way across, unlike the drivers side. I nearly bit the bullet and wasted £250 on a new rubber windshield (yes, £250 for a piece of rubber!) but then stumbled across the following page in the service manual: There's a tilt adjustment bolt that doesn't seem to get much of a mention having done some searching around. A few rotations was all that was needed to tilt the glass back in towards the upper seal so that it sat tight and flush with the seal. Wind noise gone. Cost £0 Quote
ChrisS Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Not seen that one before. I have moved it to 'Guides', as that is where we point people for this sort of thing. Quote
MFM Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Thanks for posting this info. I have stashed it away for a rainy day that hopefully will not come. Mike Quote

spursmaddave Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 You may just have saved me a considerable amount of money mate, great find DB +1 I was only asking Zman about door seals earlier, although to be fair the first thing he asked me is the window making a proper seal.... so I will check that first Quote
SteveW Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Awesome!!! I have a bit of wind noise from passenger side think I'm gonna have a fiddle tomorrow! Awesome find! Cheers Quote
Clarkie Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Aww man, that'll be the 100th time i've had my door card off! Hopefully this'll fix it. Thanks for the find! Quote
Meeerrrk Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Thanks for the link. I tried it today, little note; you can adjust the rear one just by popping off the door reflector Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
MDMetal Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 (edited) SO just to ask... The door has two special bolts, one at the front and one at the back, thr front one doesn't get a mention. On mine its a normal thread with a flat head slot in which then has a 12mm hex nut tieing it to the door frame, I gave it a few twists clockwise but didn't see any results. DO I need to unscrew the bolts above it and then use the adjuster bolt? As usual the guide says what to do without saying what to do. Edited April 25, 2015 by MDMetal Quote
