Adrian@TORQEN Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Trying to pay congestion charge for today, but website won't recognise my car, what do I do now? T Quote
DoogyRev Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Drive in London for Free Only joking, I would check with the DVLA that they have your car records up to date, then speak to TFL explain the situation and see what they say. Quote
Beavis Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Phone Apple But all this apple talk has frazzled my head Quote
Stew Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 What happens when you click the link that says 'What if these details are incorrect?' Sorry, I can offer no advice. Quote

If the Vehicle Registration Mark is correct but the vehicle description shown is wrong, you can still proceed with payment for this vehicle. Vehicle information is provided to Transport for London (TfL) by the Driver Vehicle and Licensing Authority (DVLA), so you'll need to let the DVLA know if your vehicle details are wrong or need updating. Lexx Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Never paid the congestion charge before, but what happens if you click next? I mean, they have your reg, and they know its a suziki. Surely thats enough for them? Quote
DoogyRev Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Have you put a new reg plate on your car recently? As far as I am aware the TFL database is updated from the DVLA..... but dont know how often. Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Yes, private plate from June... Quote
DoogyRev Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I bet then the TFL database has not been updated since then..... and you now drive a Suzuki "Something or other"...... Great cars from what I hear Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Therefore I will pay CC for A DIFFERENT CAR Quote
Lexx Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Therefore I will pay CC for A DIFFERENT CAR My bad. I thought you were trying to pay for a shed. Don't know your reg, and you didnt state it was for the Zed. Quote
Stew Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Was the reg on a Suzuki before? Sounds like it's not updated. I can still get insurance quotes that says my reg is on my old Lexus..... which I sold 5 years ago. Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 I don't know, recently acquired it of ebay. DVLA sent the new V5 in June, it shouldn't be any problem with that. Perhaps TFL did not update their records yet... Quote
Stew Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Most probably the car it came off. Obviously it needs fixed but I don't think it's anything to worry about. Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 Did I get a free ride in London? Quote
Chris`I Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 askMID shows the right details, so you're on the insurance database correctly. I would contact TFL and DVLA as the plate is registered to you and your home address - you will be liable to pay - only you cant because of their system. I would do it sharpish as they could fine you I guess. Quote

Paid it anyway, rather than risking a fine, instead of £10... Thank you. Please retain your receipt number as proof of payment. Your receipt number is: 001034944137 Quote
Chris`I Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I beleive the databases are largely shared, but mustnt be the case here. Usually if it is on MID it is on the DVLA as they get the car details from the DVLA. Something has gone screwy in this case, but I would imagine its with TFL and not the DVLA. Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 That what I think also, because I already have the V5 with the new number since June, DVLA must have the correct details... Thanks! Quote
