Cookbot Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Have a good look at the guide (there's a link in the first post) and see if it's for you. No real need to understand electrics, just use a screwdriver and some pliers! Quote
C.J Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Received today Now to brave it, and fit this weekend. Quote
Cookbot Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 No probs, most of you should have them by now. Only 1 left then I have to order a 3rd set of components! Cookie Quote
C.J Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Fitted mine today. Thanks to the easy to follow guide, it tooK about an hour to take the door off and fit the new circuit. However, it did take me (read the wife) about another hour to get the switch to work 100% without slipping. 2 hours, 2 fuses, and lots of help from the wife ( patience is her forte) and we were done. Works a treat, and is a nice touch to the car. Thank you Quote
Cookbot Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Glad you like it. Yea, there's a definite knack to fitting the switch too! Quote

C.J Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 The switch is playing up today I can see the reason. When I lock/unlock the car using the key fob, the actual lock doesn't move as far as pressing the button on the door (which is how I tested when fitting). So next weekend I'll try to re-position the switch and try again using the key fob. Hope you treated her to a new pair of jeans as thanks for her help[RIP ON LEG]or is that fashion? At her age, it's definitely fashion although tbf, they are her 'DIY' pair. Quote
Cookbot Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Those still waiting, I've had to order some more scotch locks as I've only just realised the bag of 100 I had have ran out! Should be here wed/thur I imagine. Cookie Quote
Karate Chimp Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Fitted mine on Saturday. Really, REALLY happy with it Instructions were great. Took a bit longer than it should have cause I didn't have anything to fix the microswitch with and so tried to go down the screw route with not a lot of luck cause I a) couldn't initially find any to fit and when I finally did I couldn't get the b*astards to take (maybe having another person around might help there although it could just be me being cr*p). So I gave in and went to B&Q and got a no more nails roll and attached the microswitch in all of about 5 secs Worked faultlessly since then Quote
Cookbot Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Those who are waiting for theirs to arrive, I'm waiting on some fuse holders. If anyone else is interested, i should have about 4 spare. Pm for details, cookie. Quote

Dicky Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Dear Mr Cookbot, cookie, one was wondering if one might have one more of ones mirror folder cct for one to buy from one so one can fit it to ones car. If one has one and one could let one know, one would be eternally grateful. Dicky Quote

ArsenalMoh Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 After reading this thread....I've got a horrible feeling that I may be too late. Cookbot...is there any chance left for one more?! Also...I am a complete muppet when it comes to installing stuff....anything I try and do looks like a botch job...because well...it is a botch job. Would you actually do the whole install if I was to come to you? Obviously would be happy to discuss price. I wouldn't trust myself unless all I had to do was tighten a screw! Cheers mate Quote
JackStrong Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 If its not too late can I be added to the list ? Quote
Beb Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Another over here Saw Karate Chimp's fitted last week, looked awesome Quote
C.J Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Which is the best thread for trouble shooting? Mine has stopped working today, no idea why. I've looked at the box, and notice only one is clicking, should they both? See vid below, top one is clicking, bottom one isn't. If anyone has one, can you confirm? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1V34mlzmAM Quote
flyboy Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Have a look at the copper tracks on the bottom of the board. Mine has a broken track and had to be soldered up before Cookie replaced it with a new one. Might be under the sticky pad which is where mine went. Otherwise Quote
