Chris`I Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Hope it works our you Thomas. As said above, at least you have some kind of dispensation and its allowed to be upto 130% of the cars value to be repaired. In the UK they would have probably written it off by now Quote
rabbitstew Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Hope it all works out! I had some idiot pile into the back of me once doing about 60mph when I was stationary! My car ended up all squished up and about 3 foot shorter than it originally was. After then I was kinda paranoid about watching who is behind me for a long time afterwards. Quote
ThomasSoerensen Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Hi all Yes it seems the German system is reasonable and not just trying to screw you. I just had the rental car delivered - I will be the captain of a BMW 740i for the next few weeks. That car is gigantic. Quote
Mega Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Hi allYes it seems the German system is reasonable and not just trying to screw you. I just had the rental car delivered - I will be the captain of a BMW 740i for the next few weeks. That car is gigantic. That is superb. In your situation with my current insurer in the UK (Admiral) I'd be getting a 1.1 nissan micra or similar. Quote
ThomasSoerensen Posted October 15, 2011 Author Posted October 15, 2011 Good news. The repairs of my car will cost 15000 EUR while the value of the car is set to 30000 EUR. So I assume it will be no problem to convince the insurance to get it repaired. Bad news is that the repairs are estimated to take 13-15 workdays. I guess it was quite a shunt. Quote
ThomasSoerensen Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 I agree that it will be worth the wait. I just talked to Michael Shumacher and he told me they have already started the repair work and he estimeated I could have the car in 2 weeks. I already look forward to driving the remaining 12 laps of the Nurburgring that I have left on my card. Quote
JackStrong Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 What rear bumper is that ? before it got smashed Quote
BulletMagnet Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 What rear bumper is that ? before it got smashed Strosek rear bumper Quote
ThomasSoerensen Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 Doesn't look like too hard a repair I agree - just replace the parts that are bent, right. Like the luggage compartment floor, rear wings, bumper, crash beams etc. I will scan the repair and valuation report so you guys can see. it is quite impressive. Quote
ThomasSoerensen Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 I have just been informed that I will most likely get the car back on Friday. YIPPPEEEEEEEEE Quote
ThomasSoerensen Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Finally got it back. It looks beautiful again. And it drives sooo nicely compared to the BMWarships. So happy Quote
