  1. WTF dude. We were stuck in a traffic jam - so later I had to make up for it in order to keep an acceptable average speed. We have average speed cameras here , you know. So you cannot let the average speed slip just because you are stuck at some point.
  2. at an vintage and exotics dealer in Frankfurt today I found this beauty, I almost fell over when I saw the price though.
  3. Finally got it back. It looks beautiful again. And it drives sooo nicely compared to the BMWarships. So happy
  4. I have just been informed that I will most likely get the car back on Friday. YIPPPEEEEEEEEE
  5. I agree - just replace the parts that are bent, right. Like the luggage compartment floor, rear wings, bumper, crash beams etc. I will scan the repair and valuation report so you guys can see. it is quite impressive.
  6. I agree that it will be worth the wait. I just talked to Michael Shumacher and he told me they have already started the repair work and he estimeated I could have the car in 2 weeks. I already look forward to driving the remaining 12 laps of the Nurburgring that I have left on my card.
  7. Good news. The repairs of my car will cost 15000 EUR while the value of the car is set to 30000 EUR. So I assume it will be no problem to convince the insurance to get it repaired. Bad news is that the repairs are estimated to take 13-15 workdays. I guess it was quite a shunt.
  8. Hi all Yes it seems the German system is reasonable and not just trying to screw you. I just had the rental car delivered - I will be the captain of a BMW 740i for the next few weeks. That car is gigantic.
  9. Hi all I was told by the mechanic, MS, that the rear crash bar and the mountings of it has taken a lot of damage and that is why the apprisor was needed. They are now working out if the car is repairable or not. The way it works here in Germany is that if the cost of the repair is less than 100% of the value of the car then it is deemed repairable. But there is an exception for "special" cars, that apply to my car due to the super charger kit, that allows the value of the repair to go up to 130% of the value of the car and they still deem it repairable. I have emailed the garage all documentation regarding the super charger kit as it costs approx. 20.000 EUR. So hopefully this will make it clear that the car should be repaired. In the mean time I will today receive a rental car for the time untill I get my car back, and I was promised the rental is in the BMW 5 series and Audi A6 class, it will be fun to see how I loke a big soft cruzer.
  10. Does Mercedes know he's moonlighting Hope he has good news for you
  11. Oh bugger. I guess it was harder than I hoped. Just got this from the mechanic ----------------------------- Hello Thomas, after lifting up your car we saw that some of the rear bodystructure is damaged quite a lot. I decided to get a 'Gutachter' (independent appraiser) to have that inspected properly. The costs are covered by the insurance. As soon as I have the results I will inform you. 12. Hi I expect Mr. Schuhmackers insurance will cover everything as I don't see how I could be at fault. My only worry is the time it will take to sort out the car. Since the exhaust is pushed in I suspect it is bent and might have to be replaced. That means Novidem has to build one and send it. And Strosek has to send another bumper that has to be painted before fitting. This could take ages. But at leas the insurance will cover a rental. Who has a 370Z as a rental?
  13. Just got rear ended on the autobahn by a Herrn Schuhmacher. Destroyed the rear bumper, trunk lid and pushed the exhaust 5 cm in. I feel ok though. I was breaking hard for an Autobahn queue. I guess i have better brakes/reactions than him. Muppet.

  15. Thanks I try to be smooth as I want to be nice to the car mechanically. Also I am on Falken FK452s so I have nowhere near the corner grip of Toyo R888s or slicks. And I believe when I have relatively little grip then the smooth style is the way to a nice lap. I live in Frankfurt so I have relatively easy access to the track. This year I have been there approx. 6-8 times and I have done 15 laps this year. I have driven it a lot on different PC games and that helps to get 60% knowledge of the place. The rest comes from being there in real life in all conditions. I have never timed my laps but I see that the Bridge-to-Gantry time is approx 9:54. I am perfectly happy with that. My passenger had never been to the place before, he had only practiced on the PlayStation - that is why we comment on Gran Turismo. And the whole reason for me to take him out was that he had never been there before, I offered him a sighting lap before he took his mates Z around. It made sense to me from a safety point of view.

  17. Are you running 450 bhp on stock internals?
  18. Thomas's next 12 months negotiated; Dishes Cooking Ironing Putting kids to bed Hoovering Polishing Shopping That is how married life works.
  19. Hi Jez. Just sent you a Facebook friend request. Could you describe in more detail how the car feels now. Does a track focused setup compromise highway driving a lot? This looks VERY interesting as my next big mod. What is the expected lifetime for these bushes? 5 years? Longer? Shorter?
  20. Hi again Thanks for all your good suggestions so far. I have now Negotiated myself into a position where the budget is 1000-1500 EUR in stead of the original 500. I have updated the first post in an attempts to try to avoid annoying people by changing the parameters. In this case is the best route to take current suggestions (Bushes and sway bar and underbody stiffening brace) and add additional mods to the list - or is there other things that are a better option now? Does a LSD make that big a difference? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
