Once this technology comes into force and is proven to start reducing these claims, its time to buy shares in the insurance companies I think. rabbitstew Posted June 21, 2011 Share Posted June 21, 2011 I really fail to see how this will make much difference. I had someone pile into the back of my car a few years ago. They were doing 60mph and I was stationary. The force of the impact threw me back with such force that it ripped the front seat mountings from the seat i was sitting on. I was in loads of pain, was off work for 6 weeks with back problems which even 5 years on still give me pain. Dr just gave me pills and said it would get better in long term. Insurance company sent me to some "specialist" who just asked me a bunch of questions and sent me away. The "large payout" I got was about £500 for my injuries. The car was written off as it was so badly damaged. I spoke to the solicitors about it at the time, as i felt £500 was hardly compensation for being bed & house ridden for weeks and the amount of pain I was in, and the answer I was told was that was the "normal" amount insurance companies were paying out these days for whiplash & such injuries. spursmaddave Posted June 21, 2011 Share Posted June 21, 2011 A few people said I was mad to have not claimed any 'personal injuries' from my accident but I don't have any One strange thing, over the last few weeks I must have got 4/5 texts saying "after your recent accident did you know you could claim £££££ for your personal injuries etc etc... since I had the accident friday, NOTHING... weird huh Oh and people who claim for injuries they didn't get are fraudsters plain and simple. I ran into someone about 8 years ago - i was probably doing about 15 mph by the time I hit her - we both got out our cars - me apologising (there was no denying entirely my fault) and her giving me dogs abuse waving her arms around - then she got back into her car phoned her husband and then began to sit there rigid holding her neck until police and ambulance arrived and was BODY BOARDED out of there. There was F-all wrong with her!! Her rear bumper had a wee dint in it and her seat was still completely in one piece. If you had a whip lash injury what's the first thing that a doctor would do? Put a neck brace on - no? They certainly wouldn't attach a device to your head and pull it around. Can you imaging the lawsuits if someone was paralyzed because of an already weak neck and the use of this device? Absolute madness. Was it posted on April 1st by any chance? What you will find is that it was probably £500 bumper repair, £1500 personal injury and £5,500 solicitors and accident management company. These people are billing the insurance companies £240 per hour!!!! 2 hours of an office junior e mailing and photo copying and that's your insurance premium used up!
