Cleaning LMGT4s

Hi there,

 

I will soon be selling my 19' LMGT4s (more of that at a later date !) and want to give them a good clean before taking the pictures. I nearly used wonder wheels before i noticed it was not for forged rims.

 

So can anyone recomend a decent alloy cleaning product?

My LMGT4's have gone through 3 winters now and zed is my daily driver.

 

I have only ever used car shampoo and water to rinse.

However, I use a cleaner/sealant (wheelgaurd by chemical brothers) every month.

In fact the rims get more pampering than the bodywork

 

In my opinion the cleansers in the all in one products are very mild compared to bilberry but if used regularly on well maintained rims you'd probably get away with just cleaning with water and a micro fibre cloth

I'd phone up your autosmart rep and gets some smartwheels if you want, but make sure you get fallout ( like ironx but much much cheaper) and tardis ( gets rid of tar spots)

This stuff is great,they also do a 'Nano' one. No doubt Tim will explain.( please)

 

But it does take a little longer to clean your wheels as it's a gel to apply and not a spray.

Its not quite so effective at cleaning as the Brake Duster/Deironizer (as its now called) but leaves behind a nano coating makinf future cleaning a doddle. I tend to clean with Brake duster, then spray clean and coat on after to seal a wheel the FAST way

I'll make sure I bring it to LakeZ with me as they are both garanteed safe for all wheel finishes by Wolf's inc bare metal/polished/anodized etc etc.

Have you guys tried the poorboys wheel sealant,that's excellent also.

In my opinion for cleaning wheels, if you do it often , at least once a week, you don't need anything more than your car wash shampoo and an EZ brush. No need for aggressive cleaners if you keep on top of cleaning. At most I only ever use an all purpose cleaner.

 

I do use Megs Wheel Brightener for seriously caked wheels though if its someone else's neglected car. So using that stuff on my car wheels. I'll never need that stuff.
