That driver looked like he knew what he was doing. I have to admit as much as I'm indifferent to the GTR, it's a deeply impressive machine. The noise from that Ferrari was sublime though. Also the Fiat Punto at the end was

The Fezza driver doesn't actually look the best driver to be fair, either that or he was looking after his car.

 

The Fezza left him for dead on the main straight and the GTR only caught him as he outbraked himself into the corner and then was behind some other car.

 

GTR driver seemed to really want it though, which makes all the difference

Id still have the 'rari. A few people on CS have had them and sold them as they are faster than anything but slightly boring and detactched. One now has a 360 which is slower but a hell of a lot better to drive.

Agreed, GTR driver was driving like a c*ck. Fezza driver was obviously inexperienced as he was braking mid corner and not taking the right lines. Not a fair fight really. I'd still take the Fezza too if I had the money

Its also worth noting that the 430 scud with its weight loss & increased power manages 377 bhp/ton, (which is exactly the same as the new 458 italia). The GTR is "only" 300, so I'd have to agree that this was certainly the driver and not the car.

 

If I ever took my bog standard 430 (333 bhp/ton) on a track, then I'd gues anyone here in a 350Z would have me, as I'd be driving like a novice, and probably quite slowly having never done a track day

It would have to be the F430 for me, it sounds absolutely amazing! As said above I'm convinced with the same level of driver in each car the GTR would have struggled to keep up.

In times like this we have to hand the car over to our tame racing driver.............sorry I got carried away there but looking at the Top Gear power lap times they both come in at 1 minute 19 seconds.

 

and on that bombshell...............I'll get my coat!
