What HU does the UK GT Spec have?

Hello again,

 

I'm buying my first Zed on Thurs I'm just curious what HU the car will have. It's a 2004 UK GT spec, with a Bose system and satnav.

 

Are there any details about which satnav the system will be running? Is it a standard fit or aftermarket?

If it's an unmodified UK GT it will have a Bose HU.

 

I'm not sure how we are supposed to know if the Sat Nav is aftermarket or not without seeing it

I think what you mean is did the UK spec have sat nav as an optional extra.........it did - so it could be either standard or after market.

The Nissan Birdview **** nav will haave Nissan across the screen when you turn the ignition, an aftermarket one will not. Plus the controls will beat the bottom of the screen

Yup thats what I'm trying to figure out. The seller hasn't mentioned that it is after Market so I assume it's the birdview one. Will see it soon enough.

Ah i see! Well I will always have TomTom on my iPhone as backup.

 

What are the issues with it? There isn't much (that I can find) online.

its not touch screen, you cant do postcode entry, it takes you up some weird and wonderful back roads, and is generally a pain to use.

As the car is an 04, there won't be any buttons underneath the screen, it will be the one with the remote control

.........and if it is then it might be worth finding out if the current owner is/was a member on her........you can have search through his posts and see if the car has anything nasty in its history

A lot better than the standard Nissan one. It's touch screen and postcode friendly and you can hide it when you park up There's a lot more to it than that of course

I'm viewing the car tomorrow so I'm not worried about pics. it's being cleaned and stored in a hanger for me to look at. It's fully kitted out, mint, GT spec UK car. Exactly what I've been looking for.

 

The owner doesn't appear to have been on here - but is on Pistonheads due to his Noble. Nothing untoward in his post history there.

 

I can't see any buttons on the pic, so lets hope it's something better than the standard one mentioned earlier.

 

Viewing tomorrow - almost certainly putting down a deposit and then collecting on Jan 3rd.

And what is 'fully kitted out'? Looks pretty standard to me apart from the refurbed standard rims.

I'm going to look at it properly tomorrow I'm more cautious than excited, as I wasn't planning on getting a Zed this quickly.

You haven't even seen it yet but your telling us your picking it on Jan 3rd
