s14akw Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 thought i would keep the questions seperate as to save confusion, it might be called style or maybe even function but does anyone know if there is a set of wind deflectors for the z or if any other set from another car would fit. Quote
Woody Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 If you are on about ones for the windows... please dont fit them. It would be a fail of epic proportion Quote
s14akw Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 yea for the side windows, so woody any bright ideas on how you stop the window wash from pouring in the driver side window when driving with the window open Quote
UNABASHED Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 just close the window for the 2 seconds it takes! Better that than have some god awful bits of plastic sticking out the side! Quote
Wasso Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 "Things you hate about the Zed" - this was my biggest gripe... there is no gutter to catch the rain water from the screen, and thus pours over the door cards, switches and sometimes my leg!! I'd totally avoid any wind deflectors. IMO I don't think they would resolve the problem anyway, as the water would drip down the deflector and still find a way in through the window, unless you have the window up as far as the deflector? As Unabashed says - it would look hideous.... Fitting them might result in a Quote
M13KYF Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 just close the window for the 2 seconds it takes! Better that than have some god awful bits of plastic sticking out the side! +1 it is annoying the the Zed has no windscreen guttering but still wind deflectors are the pits Quote
s14akw Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 so basically no one has came up with any proper solutions to this, its so simple yet very frustrating Quote
Wasso Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Tell me about it, what's worse is when the rain sits on the roof of the car, window open, take a left hander and in pours 3 litres of water all over the door and you!! Biggest design fault I say of the Zed. Quote
docwra Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 You could always do what I did - drive the car through a hedge, then forget to refit the washer bottle when you fix it. Extreme perhaps, but it solves the problem Quote
s14akw Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 its not just that mate i have custom door builds that angle up and out from the door with focal krx3s in them and i dont want to blow them by pourin water on them lol, not the cheapest speakers around lol wooosaaa lol Quote
H5 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 yea for the side windows, so woody any bright ideas on how you stop the window wash from pouring in the driver side window when driving with the window open Yep, don't use it! I disconnected mine to stop the accidental spraying of the muck all over the car, reconnect it before the MOT and all is well. If the windscreen needs a clean I'll clean it with a cloth. But that's just because I'm a bit OCD about keeping it clean! Quote
Woody Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 just close the window for the 2 seconds it takes! Better that than have some god awful bits of plastic sticking out the side! FTW Quote
bhavin85 Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I had a set of very small subtles ones on my celica and I found they did the trick and werent very noticable! If someone was to fab up something that looked like these they would sell very well I think Front Front on you can hardly see them: Quote
UNABASHED Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I don't think they will sell very well, I certainly wont be getting any! Quote
Tay Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I wouldn't buy any, I do hate the water pouring in like everyone else but the solution is to keep the windows closed when it's wet or you spray the screen. Quote
slimjim Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Why exactly do you need the window down then it is raining? Quote
slimjim Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Why exactly do you need the window down then it is raining? Actually (Apart from say carparks) why does anyone wind the window down on the Zed anyway? Quote
UNABASHED Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Why exactly do you need the window down then it is raining? Actually (Apart from say carparks) why does anyone wind the window down on the Zed anyway? so people can hear your toons! Quote
Tay Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 haha, yeah. no point having a kick ass stereo if you're the only one who can hear the thud thud thud... Quote

Ricey Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Why exactly do you need the window down then it is raining? 1 good reason springs instantly to mind.........its a 3.5 litre V6 engine producing 287 bph and 274 ft-lb or torque coupled to a growling twin exit zorst Quote
s14akw Posted October 8, 2010 Author Posted October 8, 2010 ok we get the point that not everyones gona like them but the point in asking the question was to find an answer, so far bhavin is really the only one to provide some sort of positive solution Quote
RisingPower Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Why exactly do you need the window down then it is raining? Actually (Apart from say carparks) why does anyone wind the window down on the Zed anyway? Tunnels? Quote
