Cragus Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I am trying to decide where my front plate should be placed and what type of plate I should use. The legalities of plates are being scrutinised under Stews thread just now - I have no desire to misrepresent my plate but I want it to impinge on the looks of my z as little as possible. Any suggestions? I have been thinking from shorter plate, to sticker plate to motorised plate. Quote
captain Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 For me, this is best. Stuck on with Velcro. Quote
ATTAK Z Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Shortened (but legal) on the grill PS mine is standard size And now your sig is incorrect Black 350z GT- full Amuse kit, bonnet bulge, Nismo V1 spoiler, GT spec engine strut, JWT pop charger, PIAA wipers, 350z stitched mats, front Z badge, rear tommy k, tommy k strut, ferodo DS2500 racing pads, red brembo calipers, nismo oil cap, nismo rad cap, clear reflectors, red/black carbon engine cover and lids, black carbon lid surrounds, EBC turbo grooved discs, red HEL brake lines, Motul RBF600 fluid,..... M13KYF Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 not sure on the impact on cooling putting the plate in the grill area Quote
Stew Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I can't remember your plate exactly but it's 7 characters isn't it? If it is then you won't be able to get a cut down plate - check the links with the legalities and I found using craigsplates and selecting the 'legal' option keeps you right. Only really two options for placement. In the grille (cooling????? maybe no issue!) or on the bumper above the grille but then you could move it about to get the right height. Quote
ATTAK Z Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 not sure on the impact on cooling putting the plate in the grill area No issues AFAIK Quote
Cragus Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 On the amuse, the bottom part angles in...would it be legal to stick a plate there if it not front facing? Dont mind that position too much captain but think I would prefer the plate to be shorter and make it a sticker - again dont know if sticker plates are legal Quote
chrisjones6699 Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 For me, this is best. Stuck on with Velcro. +1! Same with mine....but no velcro! Oh and captain, yours is slightly off to the left! Quote
Tarmac@TarmacSportz Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Leave it in the passenger side window Quote
UNABASHED Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Leave it in the passenger side window +1 that's the badass way! Quote
ATTAK Z Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Leave it in the passenger side window +1 that's the badass way! It MUST be visible from the front of the car, so if you want to stay within the law the passenger side window is a or do you mean "the windscreen on the passenger side (LHS) of the car" ? Quote
Tarmac@TarmacSportz Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I meant where it is currently sat on his piccys... If the law stops him he can say it just fell off Quote

Cragus Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 I better stick some double back plastic on it if its to stay in the window then incase the police look at the back and ask what it was stuck on with Quote

Stew Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 This has to be a new record for most off topic in 2 pages. It went from where to put a number plate to a one armed gay fellow with a glove on in a matter of minutes..... So my suggestion is that you travel everywhere with a one armed gay man in the passenger seat holding your plate with his gloved hand. Job done! Quote
Jay Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Thats cause craig has something to tell us ............ Quote
