adammitch69 Posted May 16, 2010 Share Posted May 16, 2010 reversed over my marble edging running down my drive this afternoon and got a chunk taking out of my sidewall. so the million dollar question - do I need a new tyre?? ...and if I do should I replace the other on the same axle too - only done 7000miles and loads of tread left. Its the most vunerable part of a tyre Change the other side if its <6mm( ie the difference should not exceed 2mm- new tyres are 8mm) may stretch to 5mm-5.5mm. Got my tyres slashed a few years back because I parked in someone's 'personal place' and was told by 'the law' they would need replacing!
