low miles and servicing

relentless

Recommended Posts

If you do very few miles a year ie 3k or so, is it really necessary to have the car serviced annually (as per Manufacturer recommendations) or is it ok to wait until you actually hit the recommended mileage before having a service done even it takes several years to get there?

What about things like sparks plugs, brake fluid and cam belt?

cheers!

Mine has only done 5k since its last service in April 07 so I didnt see the point in getting it serviced after such a short amount of mileage. I'll just be doing it every 9k

Did do an oil change in the summer though :)

Brake fluid is hygroscopic although this does take time, the oil will form moisture on the top, and it will only make it worse if you start it and run it for a short period, as condensation will form in the sump due to the difference in temp between in and out

oil is the blood of the engine, dont skimp on this ;)
