waylander Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Hi All considering buying this 350z but the only thing is, the tyres on the back look way too small as there is quite a big gap between the tyre and rim. The owner says the back has 18inch alloys with the following tyre size 295/30/18 and has never been lowerd as far as he knows, what are people opinion based on this picture, has it been lowered or is it just that the tyre are too small for the alloys/car ? sorry if this image doesnt show http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/644944.htm thanks all. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/largep ... ¤t=6 Quote
Beavis Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Fixed the link for you Lowered? Its either got small wheels on or its been raised Quote
GIXXERUK Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 looks like its on a jack could be the pics or angle of the drive way but the camber on the rear looks wrong lowered reduces the gap Quote
waylander Posted October 12, 2008 Author Posted October 12, 2008 oops.... i realised after pressing the post button, what i really meant was, has the car suspension been altered, how embarrassing........ Quote
Stew Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Doubt it. I think a very bad tyre choice has been made. Quote
ZMANALEX Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Yip, as Stew said in previous post "tyre size issue" Profile should be 45 and not 30. Quote
Sarnie Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Lowered? It looks like a 4x4  Completely wrong tyre size............. Quote
Chesterfield Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Tyre size is all ove the place like others have said. With 295 on the rear, then 40 is about the best profile, but even then the speedo will be slightly under reading (not good, espescially when it comes to cameras!). First thing you will need to do if you buy that is buy some tyres of the correct size. Quote
3FIDDYZ Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Bloody hell..... didnt realise that Nissan did a Monster truck version if the 350z... Does it come with ladders? Quote
Chris`I Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 As the others have said, a 30 profile is way too small. Even then, I dont know if that would make up the difference you see there, it looks massive. Maybe the angle plus the fact the tyre is too small, but it looks suspect for sure. Quote
3FIDDYZ Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Hes in Croydon near me, so if you want someone to come along and give you a 2nd opinion then am happy to lend a hand Quote
Chesterfield Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Looking at the angle of the drive, its probably been reversed up, and hand brake applied, this may make it ride up when the footbrake is released upon parking. Still the wrong tyre size though. Quote
boomer816 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I actually drive past this car everyday on the way to work. Will have a glance at it tomo. I live pretty near selsdon, where abouts are you guys near to here 3FIDDYZ and waylander? Quote

3FIDDYZ Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Not sure at the moment, have got some stuff on that weekend... Centre console off? What you havin done or doing? !! Quote
boomer816 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 A new head unit. Was having trouble locating some of the wires in the loom. Hopefully sorting it out wednesday evening if not then saturday. Quote
boomer816 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Right i drove past this car this morning, slowed traffic down to get a look. The car is on a different flatter part of the driveway now could see the whole passenger side. There does look like a big gap, looks the same on the front wheel too. Definately looks like the wrong chose of tyres as others have said. Car does look very clean tho, come to think of it i dont ever rememeber driving past and not seeing it on the driveway. Quote
waylander Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 im living near collierswood. Hopefully I will be viewing this car again this weekend if you are free 3FIDDYZ, might be sunday afternoon, your opinion will be greatly appreciated. Quote
boomer816 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Ah not too far away then. Got some family that live near there, so go through there quite a bit. Quote
