powdermonkey1978
my fog light has been wired in here pal , if it isnt red and doest say self destruct i think you should be fine to press and find out lol ...
relentless
LOl....well i pressed it and nout happened other than a little light glowing and then something started saying ..."t-minus 10..9..8.." Looks like the rear window demister is turned on by pressing the first dial on the centre console by the gear stick...so im guessing the button on the right is for the windscreen (if it does anything that is). Wouldnt the windscreen have thin metal lines or something if its heated?
relentless
aha! - answered my own question.....didnt notice until i looked on the outside on the window.....its definately heated as there are loads of wires running through the glass by the black border! Jixaman
The wire in the screen by the black border is the in screen Antenna, the little round button by the fog light switch is to dip the mirrors when reversing (its a picture of a wing mirror on the tiny button)... Jixaman
The TV... There are three antena (anteni) on the car, the normal FM and two on the windscreen, aparently the TV unit switches between them to get the best signal...
jim
The wire in the screen by the black border is the in screen Antenna, . That would explain why what I thought was a windscreen heater didn't seem to be working! The switch on mine has a zig-zag horizontal line symbol on it. Does that sound right? BladesGrant
The button next to my traction control is for the rear fog light. JDMs don't have rear fog lights and they are put onto a switch (generally) next to the ESP button. Go round the back and check your fog light. My importer installed a separate switch for the fog light, so it's not that.
jpaero
Its not a fog light. My thoughts was that is was for heating the front window as certain nissans have it for the cold/snow etc.
jim
Here's a photo of mine for comparison. I still don't know what the switch to the right of the TCS one is for. The one to the left is the immobiliser fitted at SVA. The socket to the lower left is the old Jap immobiliser which has been disabled. The switch lower right is the rear fog light. Husky
sure looks like a heated screen button to me, i didnt even realise nissan did heated screens i thought it was a fordish thing?
nixy
defo something to do with windscreen. I don't have that button on my jdm but there are so many extras they did in japan. Having said that i've driven a focus with heated front screen and you can definitely see the fine wires in the glass so you would know if you had them. cookiemonster
thats the same button my BMW has to heat the front windscreen. you can tell because its a picture of a curved screen. The rear is a rectangle screen with the same wiggley line.
