leebottrill Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 (edited) I Drove into a very badly lit car park this evening and drove into a high central kerb. Took a chunk out of my newly sprayed bumper and messed my newly refurbished wheel up. My worry is what damage could be caused from this apart from the cosmetic damage? potentially an insurance claim? Ekona Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Don’t think I’d be claiming for that! Your excess will likely cover most of the cost anyway. Quote
Umster Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Drop the bumper and check it out during daylight. As mentioned above, doubt it's worth chasing up via insurance. No more doughnuts in the car park when it's wet and dark eh! Quote
leebottrill Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 car checked. No damage but it’s knocked the alignment out. So it’s just a bumper and wheel repair! Quote
rabbitstew Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 If its knocked the alignment out then double check it hasn't bent any of the suspension components too. Quote
leebottrill Posted January 8, 2020 Author Posted January 8, 2020 Well I’ve had the wheel refurbished yesterday but I’m not very happy (again) with the finish. Do you think this is acceptable on a newly refurbished wheel? Quote
cs2000 Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Looks like their impact driver damaged the paint on installation. Id not be too pleased with that personally if its freshly repaired. Quote
ZMANALEX Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 I have seen that sort of damage a thousand times I am afraid. Quote
