Alternatives to cargo net?

After 4 months of Z ownership and 4 months of shopping and stuff sliding around the boot, I'm wondering what I can get to prevent this. I've seen the cargo

nets but I'm wondering if they're useful for bag/boxes of groceries? They can be quite large and the net doesn't look that big. Are there other solutions for preventing the sliding of stuff / anchoring it down?

The cargo net is pretty stretchy and can be clipped to the underside of the brace to give more room (i.e not clipped to the floor). If you look under the brace there are 2 clips, its the kind of thing you only notice by accident!

 

There's also a boot release latch hidden under the brace; you know, just in case you get locked in that tiny boot...

This is about 5cm bigger than mine.....should be OK for shopping bags......this is from HongKong, hence expect up to 1 month in delivery....£6.36 worth a try

Bradders on here has a net he got cheap off ebay and uses to hold down gear in the boot - he had it for the Scotland trip, did the trick.

The cargo net in all the examples pics is tied to the floor, you can get a lot more under there if you tie it to the strut bar. I might be able to take some photos at the weekend. You don't get any more width but you pretty much get the height of the boot. Helps to have a tonneau as well.

Why not get yourself a 14N boot divider.That will help.
