chughes163 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Hi Everyone I just picked up my 350z on Saturday and unfortunately the dealer didnt clean it so i spent sunday morning giving it a bit of replenishment with my friend who joined me with his Clio V6. Anyway....2 clean cars + a boring sunday afternoon = car photo shoot Here are a few pics: Quote
GIXXERUK Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 very i came very close to buying a v6 clio (facelift) before i got the Z Z looks very clean Quote
Stew Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Is it just me or does anybody else think the Zed would look good with the frosty bluey silvery paint that's on the V6????? Very nice. Quote
sl114 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Bit too much on the old contrast though, be careful with it as it takes out some of the colour Quote
chughes163 Posted February 25, 2008 Author Posted February 25, 2008 lol my mate wanted me to keep it stormy looking as was rubbish weather yesterday......but i wanted it a bit brighter gonna get photoshop back on my pc and edit the originials properly sometime this week Quote
neo Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 so can the clio give the 350Z a run for it's money Quote
Trev-the-Rev Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Nice pics. Where abouts is the location with the river and boats? Quote
chughes163 Posted February 25, 2008 Author Posted February 25, 2008 Thanks for the response The V6 im sure can give it a run for its money but we havent raced them - it was more some spirited driving through the country roads of oxfordshire enjoying the noise Judging by the performance figures, i doubt theres much in it mind.... Clio: 230bhp 0-60mph approx 5.9 seconds i think Obviously, 350z has 280bhp but is heavier so I would expect it to have similar performance. I would expect that the 350z will have a bit more go top end as my mate said that above 90mph it seems to wallow around a bit and feel unstable. In my mind, the V6 was built to be completely barmy instead of an out and out racer...however it still has the grunt! The location was Abingdon Marina, Oxfordshire Quote
bronzee Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I just picked up my 350z on Saturday and unfortunately the dealer didnt clean it They probably did you a favour, best way to stay away from swirls. Quote
chughes163 Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 lol yea you could be right there! my friend with the V6 is a complete fanatic when it comes to cleaning cars properly and has all the gear....where as i tend to use whatever is available! - i.e. he was using a towel which cost him £20 i think...and im there with my halfords value cleaning pack - everything basic for £7 lol anyway....its filthy again so no doubt will be getting another 'spruce up' soon Quote

Sarnie Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 ...and im there with my halfords value cleaning pack - everything basic for £7 lol anyway Your friends got the right idea Quote
cavey Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 some very tasty pics of two very clean cars my clio had a top end of 145 mph Quote
chughes163 Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 hehe I am sure its capable of high speed - but my guess is the 350z would reach them quicker and feel more comfortable at them - at least thats from what my mate has said! They do really compliment eachother well I think Watch out for a few more pictures from me in the not so distant future hopefully with better weather. A trip to wales is on the cards and also my mate with an s2000 fancies getting a few snaps Quote
GIXXERUK Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 the two cars are similar in one way - they can let go without too much warning and throw you into a hedge the clio v6 is well known for not showing its limit until its too late Quote
chughes163 Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 lol yea the 350z has already 'had its moments' on the country roads Obviously its not as forgiving as my previous Alpina BMW and much more like my boxster without traction control. Its great fun to drive mind as its more of a challenge. And yes, the Vee is definitely a bit of a handful! Quote
Indyzed Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Great pixs. I've always liked the Clio. Wish they were over here but Renault pulled out years ago and will likely not come back. Those make great engine sounds but I read where they were quite tricky to handle around a track. Cool car though. Quote
Daaave Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Nice pics. I'd love to have a go in a Clio V6, but I suspect it's loads more tricky to handle than the Zed when pushed. So rare though, that's always a good thing because most owners will be real enthusiasts. I see so many Zeds about that are owned/driven by people who look like they couldn't care less. Quote
chughes163 Posted March 7, 2008 Author Posted March 7, 2008 Yea I know what you mean. It is definitely an enthusiasts machine Saying that though, I have only seen 3 350z's on the road within 2 weeks of ownership...which surprised me! Quote
tmJak Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 i hardly see any, unless i go down south or into a city centre. saw a review of a mazda rx8, which said if you're bored with seeing too many zeds on the road, buy a rex! cheecky bugger, rex's are common as muck! Quote
