KyleR Posted December 1, 2016 Share Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) A backboxes job is not only to make the noise quieter, but also to change the tone to something more pleasing, if you remove the backbox, you will get all the noise, but you'll also get all of the tones, which may or may not sound like a mess to you. Gurrier Posted December 1, 2016 Author Share Posted December 1, 2016 I know a muffler isn't a decat ffs I demufflered my old B6 S4 and it sounded great but system on it had no resonator only Y pipe so it sounded like a herd of wild bastards on the beans.
