What type to paint wheel nuts ??

Hey people,

Had the dreadful news today from the refurb company that my wheels can not be fully repaired, due the damage being that severe (this was due to an absolute idiot in a lorry on a 60mph road cutting a corner towards me, forcing me off the road or writing off the car 😤😤) .. anyway, the company have offered to repair as much as possible and respray them a different colour, which I have chosen to do. Now I have the wheel nuts sitting with me, which obviously don't match the Colour at all, what type paint is best to use on them? I'm guessing not the bog standard type that I've used from Halfords? But I could be wrong ...

There is a danger of the paint marking when the socket covers it. Electroplating is the thinner option but expensive.

I can't see paint staying on wheel nuts for long, as veilside says the socket will mark them.

Just buy a nice set of Stainless Steel wheel nuts and locking wheel nut, goes with any colour.

Why would you paint them and not buy a coloured set. There are plenty of options available.

Yep, Chris at Tarmac sports sorted me our with some red spline-drives - he has plenty colours to chose from :-)

Don't paint them mate, it won't last. If you really want to do them yourself, maybe look into DIY anodizing kits? Probably cost more than buying new ones and you'll start anodizing everything you can get your mitts on!!

Yeah, my work does a lot of anodising ! And right ok, still a noob at some things so bear with me 🙈 looks like Chris will be getting a message then thanks again guys
