Advise please regarding super charger.

When coming back from a show recently there was a strange noise coming from the car i originally thought it was something dragging on the floor but then I got out to have a look in the engine bay.

 

And I saw this.

The bolt holding the pulley in had come lose moving pulley. Rac were called and I was taken home on a flat bed.

 

This week the bolt, belt and pulley were put back in place and all seemed well. But it's making this noise.

Please can someone help me and advise me what to do. I'm a bit paranoid

Could be a bearing issue as Dan mentioned.

Personally I'd want to get it looked at by a garage that know what they're doing when it comes to supercharged Zeds.

Eg: Horsham Developments or Abbey etc.

Is that a Pro-charger C2 ?

 

First vid noise is a combination of bearing and bolt rattling off body.

 

2nd vid is bearing failure.

 

If Pro-charger it will have to go back to them for recon.

 

If you require an introduction to Pro-charger let me know as I have contacts within. :thumbs:

Think it's a "polished" Vortech charger Alex.

 

V2 most likely as I can't see a dipstick for checking the oil like the V3 had.

 

How did you work that one out mate as from the images it is very similar to the self contained Pro Charger C2 ? :blush:

In the first picture where you can see the tag I recognised the "V" from Vortech as it was the same as my "V3" had.

 

Looking at the picture again just now you can also see "V-2" on the tag although I didn't notice that the first time. :thumbs:

Take filter off and try to move impeller shaft by hand. If it moves, then your bearings are gone. Had this on my V2 twice :lol: then replaced it with brand new V3.
