you ideally need to step the fronts up to a 255 minimum

Depends on what profile the 275 and 285 tyres are.

i am running 255/40/18 on a 9.5j rim and 275/40/18 on a 10.5j with no problems

Just fancy having a little wider for a change on the looks, it looks a little stretched on the 10.5 rear
