Brake pad choice - brembo's

My pads are wearing low on the front and with a trackday looming they need replacing, not a clue what pads are on it but the discs appear to be DBA, with little wear. The rear looks stock. The question is, can I put yellow stuff pads on the front without touching the rear?

The answer to your question is yes.

However best to pull the rear pads for a proper inspection, especially the inside pads.

Thanks for that mate, what about brake balance or won't it affect it that much? I'll certainly be having a look though, fluid flush and braided lines to fit

If you're doing the brake fluid as well I'd recommend Motul RBF600 brake fluid ~ it's what I used to run with my Zed and seemed to work very well with the set up I had on trackdays/fast road driving.

Set up was: EBC Turbo Groove discs, Ferodo DS2500 pads & Goodridge braided stainless steel brake lines with the Motul RBF600 fluid. ;)

It's okay to send brake bias forward a touch with pads and discs, it's sending it to the rear where you can have major issues.

You'll be fine. :)

Seen that happen to a few sets of ebc pads, apparently this issue was rectified how ever I run yellow stuff and have had a couple of other sets on other cars and seem ok

if you want ultimate braking performance and would be willing to live with very noisy brakes eating through your rotors quite fast, I can recommend Ferodo DS1.11 :) ...they are brutal

we normally run yellowstuff on our track bmw, would recommend them over redstuff as redstuff aren't really beefy enough for track work in a heavy car like the zed. great for road driving through.
