DarmoZ Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Has anyone installed this product http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/111849553909 This didn't work for me on the curved sections of the interior, waste of money, I even used a heat gun but no luck. Quote
Mondo 300 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Did you thoroughly degrease the panels you were putting it on? Quote
coldel Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Heard similar stories before, that the adhesive isn't great and it peels back. A lot of money for 'some stickers' if you ask me... Quote
hairyman68 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Hi this is mine.. went on great...but must done in summer or somewhere warm...as the parts MUST BE WARM AND FLEXIBLE. .. Quote
coldel Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Hmmm, would rather spend the money on hydro dipping to be honest which covers the parts completely, sorry! 2 Quote
DarmoZ Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 Wow yours went on very neat, Well the seller has agreed to send some new sections, the ones that didn't stick, I know im installing in january, but i made sure the interior was nice and warm with the heater, plus i used heat gun on the parts to get them flexible before installing. DarmoZ Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 Did you thoroughly degrease the panels you were putting it on? Yep i used rubbing alcohol Quote
Ricey Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I do think they look a bit pony to be honest. Dipping would be twice the price but more effective in the long term. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk 3 Quote
hairyman68 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Yes but you have to completely strip out everything you want to cover....but as always it's a personal thing.... Quote
valy Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 DONT ....if it doesn't peel now it will...after a few months (tried and tested) ... best at the moment will be hydrodipping or a nice respray Quote
coldel Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I guess if the car is a daily it can be a problem, I just went 3 days without using the VX220 (very doable in our climate!) to get the dash done: Its going to cost a bit more but will completely cover each part you do, last the distance and certainly not peel off. I am very OCD and couldnt live with seeing parts of the original dash visible around the stickers. 3 Quote
hairyman68 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Mines been in over a year without any issues with peeling.... if you do it right then it should last... Quote
veilside z Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Fitted mine 4 yrs ago and my son's over a year ago. Fully de grease each panel then heat the adhesive backing. 2 Quote
Ceejay29 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Don't bother with that cr8p, it will lift and as mentioned above you can see the line of the OEM finish below. Just strip the parts and send them off to be hydro dipped. I used Aquagraphix along with many others and it was well worth they money. I frequently drove my car without numerous panels in place. Looks messy but wasn't an issue and it's great if you feel the cold...heater box blasts out hot air 3 Quote
coldel Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Thats awesome, and infinitely better than the stick on stuff (which at £100 for some stickers is ridiculously overpriced IMO) Quote
