cwalkero Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Hey guys my 350z hasnt been driven in a few weeks and the battery has gone dead. Any recommendations on a good charge startup kit? Quote
-G- Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 This. It's an emergency lamp, jumper coil & compressor all rolled into one. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=272020876707&alt=web Quote
cwalkero Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 I quite fancied that one and it works on 3.5l engines? Quote
cwalkero Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 I bought that pack you suggested. Just waiting on it charging. Am I reading this correctly with the instructions? It says that the red + clamp should be connected to the + on the cars battery but the black - clamp should not be connected to the - negative on the car battery? Quote
planetsurfer2 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I have a couple of these. Starts the Z and my Infiniti easily. I leave it in the car. http://www.super-powerpack.com/ Quote
glrnet Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 If you regulalrly leave the car and don't start it for weeks and you have a garage get a ctek charger http://www.ctek.com/gb/en Contunually deep discharging your battery will cause sulphation in the cells and eventually lead to battery failure. Shenley Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) CTEK MXS 5.0 Use it on the 370 and the 350 before it. Charges and conditions the battery. You can buy extra extension leads, and comes with the option to fit a connector direct to the battery. I type too slow......... 🤓 Edited January 16, 2016 by Shenley 1 Quote
SHEZZA Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Another + 1 for the ctek MXS 5.0 charger. Quote
Paul K Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 +1 for Ctek mxs5.0. I've got a couple of the additional hard wire kits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
cwalkero Posted January 23, 2016 Author Posted January 23, 2016 I dont know if I am doing something wrong but this charger seems to be doing nothing. My car battery is now completely dead. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272020876707 Quote

Connect from the jump pack to the batter positive. Connect the negative from the jump pack to a suitable ground point on your car (not the negative terminal on your battery). Quote

It's giving you the correct order on which to attach the electrodes. Sparks can theoretically ignite hydrogen gas created by the ionization of battery fluids (hydrolysis) and cause injury - all they are doing is saving themselves from litigation if you hurt yourself. cwalkero Posted January 23, 2016 Author Posted January 23, 2016 I managed to get it working. Is that normal though to get the sparks from the negative clamp when you attached it to say the inside bodywork? Quote
