ZMANALEX Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Much cheaper just to go buy an Auto and sell the Manual. Quote
ilogikal1 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Surely it would be cheaper and easier to sell your manual and buy an auto? Quote

Rs2oo Posted September 24, 2015 Author Posted September 24, 2015 Thought I was going to get that question !!! Gearbox on the Roadster is a bit iffy, wife loves the car but would prefer a auto. I'm planning getting a 350Z coupe and making a track day c out of it. Quote
Ekona Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Sell your ragtop, buy an auto for the missus, then buy a coupe for the track slag. Quote
Rs2oo Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 Just found out about a gearbox specialist 2 miles from me who is going to have a look. Quote
ZMANALEX Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Just found out about a gearbox specialist 2 miles from me who is going to have a look. Good luck with that Honestly mate, this is a non starter, no matter what the "gearbox specialist" says. Quote
a2orry Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Listen to what has already been said. Your gearbox specialist probly only fixes and fits gearboxes don't imagine he knows a thing about the electronic control autoboxs work on if you try this you are in a word of hurt Quote
Rs2oo Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 I'm not mad, I have a 350Z.......I'm keeping the manual, just not happy with 2nd gear so he's going to have a drive and tell me what he thinks. If the syncro is knackered I will get it rebuilt. Quote
a2orry Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 It wasn't madness just a momentary lapse of reason .you could try an oil change using original Nissan gear oil helps with sticky 2nd gear. 1 Quote

Rs2oo Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 Correct Commander, in my first post I was just asking the question, never actually said I was going to do it, just seeing if it could be done and if it was possible . I have after much chat and views about it including on here, decided it is a stupid idea and will firstly change the oil and add Moly etc If that does not help, I will get it looked at by the gearbox specialist.
