Some CAI have the inlet low down at the front of the engine bay & could possibly allow water in. Only a problem if there was a lot, like driving through a flood as somebody posted this week. Or if able to suck up water due to the postioning of the inlet. If only moisture then this will get burned off before causing any problems
Went car shopping with a girlfriend last year & looked at all sorts. She was interested in a Fiesta but we took a Focus out and she ended up buying it. She had a few problems but nothing of any major concern. Payed about £3800 for it though.
Heard about skipping CD's etc. but never heard of this one. Obviously sounds electrical, maybe an overheating component, but would have thought this would happen more often.
Them were the days, sliding windows, cord for opening the door from inside, rusted boot hinges. Never owned one myself, test drove one once & hated it, but a couple of mates had them & had some very spirited rides with them.
Oh Stan I feel so much for you, must have been so hard to drive away & leave your Zed. Have driven a 300c in America and though it wasn't very exciting I must admit to liking the look of them. Driving any distances will be very relaxing.
