  6. thanks for the info guys
  7. maybe
  8. No idea why, wasnt going past the exiges there, i have driven an elise on the track (and an exige) and didnt think that much to the elise, never driven or been in a vx and it might be down to skill but who knows, as has already been said stock vs non stock is another argument..
  9. i am driving it hard on the track and i want to try and modify the car in order to cope with enlonged periods on the track, so the brakes etc are fine and having done one cool down lap could have taken much more punishment, the problem i have is lack of knowledge really, i am doing maybe 4 or 5 quick laps and coming in because that seems to be fine, i dont know how many laps i could do before i start to destroy the clutch or over heat the diff/oil/power steering fluid and just want to make sure im doing what i can to cool the car down. I have spoken to RJN about a hood with a sort of reverse scoop etc to take the hot air from the rad out the top of the hood etc... any advice welcome
  10. just a bit frustrating cause although i always run down the car for a few miles before switching the engine off the heat coming from the engine bay is enough to, and im contemplating it, cook a few sausages on... still if theres only one way of doing this then thats it, ta for the confirmation alex
  11. Anyone any idea's of how to force the fans to cut in earlier? no matter what combination of ac/no ac/full force etc doesnt appear to make any difference, i know it cuts in on heat and that once remapped it will be told to cut in on a lower temp but any advice in the meantime? ta
  12. are you a pupil there?
  13. gonna be an early morning tomorrow
  14. wouldnt say no to a wr1

  16. you say the vx is quick, im not taking anything away from the car but apart from the 0-60 time (which doesnt matter on a track) i was running rings around the vx220's 1 of the three of which blew its engine after 6 laps, might be a different story in the summer (if we get one) but will be interesting
  17. there is a certain taste you get from a reject chicken that you dont from a spoilt single egg/chicken brought up on red carpet and the best grain known to man...
  18. 0-62 time would be worse if another gear change was required, mines a revup 56 plate if that makes any difference, im pretty sure that i crossed the line in 3rd bouncing off the limiter at 102 which is the speed i crossed the line at in 13.9 (eventually)
  19. Ah okay. So if you were drag racing you would have to change gear before 60 to stop it bouncing off the limiter? Mine hits that at about 67-70, goin up the strip i changed at just over 62.
  20. s2000 stubby works fine for me.
  21. id disagree about the engine, i think the engine is awesome when you get it into the right powerband and keep it there, Although ive spent a fair amount modding mine i was passing elises/exiges/vx220's/boxters on the track with relative ease just with better brakes/suspension stock v stock is another argument i guess, from what i read the chassis itself is very capable (although a little heavy) its just let down a bit by the stock equipment for track use.
  22. Zed but my boss has a bmw z4 also referred to as the zed so can get a little confusing, tho usually only when deciding who's driving to the pub until everyone remembers both only have 2 seats and we take the 5 series
  23. im hoping to stay on the wet stuff this time and stop hitting china! so the next leg is on saturday eh! ill be attaching a rope to martins boat
  24. +1 ive tried the yellow stuff and the ferodo's, for daily use they are very similar, maybe slightly more bite from cold in the yellow stuff, and for track use the DS2500's are far better imo assuming your lapping a track and not doing sprints.
  25. looks good but im a little confused with the sizes mentioned, it reckons a single car garage requires 4 boxes, there is no way my single garage is bigger than 4x42 sq ft... am i just missing something obvious here or am i actually a borrower with a garage the size of a matchbox...
