  1. i think £80 a day is quite cheap and with some of the cheaper covers you could see an excess of £5000+
  2. there is never and blame given on track, so if your car is in the pits and someone crashes into your stationary car its your problem... track day cover is expensive because of the dangers involved, some trackday organisers are better than others. i took cover out for the first day i did then never bothered again, just my preference, everyone there knows the risks.. didnt insure the car when i raced last year either but i did the year before for 4 races and depending on what we do this year i might... if money was no object i would but decided to spend the money on the best safety equipment i could afford instead
  3. have you just watched repo man as well?
  4. guidelines sound harsh! roll cage is great but the few times i had to use mine on the road it is impossible (almost) to get out of the car if you park next to another car, and you definitely would want a helmet on and padding on the cage... Strip the interior and sort out the seat/steering wheel. Sounds like you should just turn it into a race car and buy a daily hack, then you dont have to conform to the guidelines and you can do what the fia body over there lets you
  5. pretty easy to get a decent dent repair person to knock it straight again anders, as lee said be really careful with the headlining as it can crack really easily, i cant remember if i didnt remove mine out of the back of the car, also be careful hammering it yourself as the side airbag detonators are in the roof at the back... if you do shaft the headlining i have a spare but im sure you'll be fine
  6. aww man glad you got it sorted in the end!
  7. hmm, not sure about that, i think its still on the car! ?
  8. i have the door glass pm me an offer based in cov as well
  9. trackwise the zeds chassis is exellent, the weight obviously doesnt help it but the balance is good, chassis is let down slightly by the standard suspension mind but there are lots of things to sort that out depending on how much money you have and how far you want to push it... in standard form the tyres and suspension would let the car down way before the chassis and car inertia would push it out. first two mods major mods i did was suspension and brakes, makes a massive difference
  10. it is possible to fit them to eyelets that you would need to mount through the body of the car, somewhere in the boot in a straightish line from the back of the seat. problem is the metal that is mounting the speaker bracket isnt really thick enough so you would have to go further back... my advice would be to get a roll over bar or a cage of some sort and mount them to that like alex has said
  11. i think 10 minutes is about right for the zed as standard, bare in mind that you could do a couple of slow laps within your track time, then push on again, replacing the pads and the fluid and the lines would be a good start and not too expensive to acheive. Something you could do yourself or get abbey to do etc... i used to use ferodo ds2500 for track use and found the lasted much better than the ebc pads and still bit nicely from cold for daily use... not cheap but then you get what you pay for,
  12. did you have the uprev done as well? you will like the difference im sure
  13. if your there anyway just get abbey to fit it and tune it scott or mark will be able to give you a price im sure
  14. Cool, you building a track Z then? Sorry im new to the site. Plan to be out testing end of feb but you know how it goes, season done start till end of april, so i have some head time, but i really want to get testing done and go to the 1st round ready to rock and knowing its sorted!! www.teamlizardmotorsport.co.uk I built mine over a year a go now but took a lot longer to do it, would love to have strengthened the chassis etc Good luck and if you have any questions let me know.
  15. Excellent stuff, took me weeks to get all the sound deadening out of mine When are you hoping to be ready to drift?
  16. decent exhaust and a remap
  17. i can give you everything but the hu for i suspect cheaper than the listing. the HU marries itself to the car so it is a struggle to get that to match up, it can be done but someone else might be better at advising you how.
  18. apart from the double negative i completely agree with this
  19. Should be able to test that at brands Looking like the 18th for me bud
  20. Ferrari said the engine was end of life and they anticipated its failure in 'a' practice session, evidently it was never the plan to run that engine in the race... in other news, HULKENBURG FOR THE WIN!!!!! should have put a few quid on that, what a team effort that was, awesome drive. I suspect Vettel will try and bully him into the first corner in the hope he will create a train of the rest of the pack, should be an interesting start, Button quite a way back but he (or at least used to be) agressive on this track... we shall see!
  21. Lee man, how the hell are you? you are the most elusive guy on this forum so its an honour to hear from you have you got you stripped zed racer going? He is too much of a northern Pansy to come out n play Bennett
  22. Uprev was well worth the price, abbey unlock the throttle as well for much better ermm... Mpg yer
  23. Sometimes sky act as an intermediatry and are tied to what the third party might say, so for example they might have a remap tick box, regardless of whether its 10 or 50bhp, my experience of Sky, which on the whole has been very good was that I paid an initial high% increase for adding a couple of mods, and that then things didnt add hardly anything, but obviously you still have to declare them. I have 2 cars with them now..
